What a night!!! When this screening sold out so quickly I knew we were in for a treat. I started @visionariesfilmclub because I believe in the power of watching impactful films together, and it amazing to meet so many of you in this growing community of @visionaries

Our second film club is as OCEAN with David Attenborough, followed by a Q&A with co-Director and Producer @tobynotown.

This is a film that has done what few docs have done. A year on from the film's release, it was so powerful to hear Toby talk about the real-world impact this film has had and continues to have - 1,700 cinemas across 30 countries, over 1,500 free screenings reaching 160,000 people, and cited by world leaders as influencing policies to strengthen marine protection. This isn't impact that happened by accident, it was designed into the film from day one.

Last Friday Night 🤩

It was so special to launch the first ever @visionariesfilmclub with the powerful docu-drama @thevoiceofhindrajabfilm and Q&A with lead actor @motazmalhees.

It’s becoming rare to be able to watch films like this in the cinema, and I hope that with @visionariesfilmclub we can create a space to platform some of the most impactful films which have the capacity to create change - to transform and transport us. Our first ever @visionariesfilmclub!!! My dream Friday night is a movie night 🎟️ I honestly wasn’t sure if it was anyone else’s dream, but we sold out so quickly and for such an important film - the breathtaking docu-drama @thevoiceofhindrajabfilm at the stunning @electriccinemas with an incredible special guest the lead actor @motazmalhees. As a Palestinian he has been denied entry to the US which means he can’t make it to the Academy Awards on Sunday, but we were sure to give him a warm Oscars welcome - a standing ovation for his incredible performance, and activism.

A few months ago I started a podcast called @Visionaries - where I interview storytellers - the photographers, filmmakers and advocates using their craft to shape the way we see the world. So why @visionariesfilmclub? The film industry is in a difficult place right now. There are so many extraordinary documentaries that struggle to find an audience, or a home. Low risk appetite in this political climate for social impact films, limited dsitrbution options. The list goes on.

It’s increasingly rare to be able to watch films like this in the cinema. My hope is that this @visionaries community can build momentum for the endless bold and impactful films out there, which have the capacity to create change - to transform and transport us.
