Just purchased a signed copy of perhaps one of the most important reads in modern history...especially if you are a person of color and specifically Black in America. NFL Single game Rush champ for quarterbacks and Super Bowl runner up Colin Kaepernick's memoir "Perilous Fight" dropped on September 15 to rave reviews and stays sold out already. Got mine online from Books A Million. It tracks his personal and professional journey since taking a knee during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner in 2016 as an act quiet displeasure and defiance following a succession of killings by police around the country of unarmed Black citizens. Kap shares the price he paid being blackballed by the league, sidelining him since. Can't wait to dive deep into this one. #ImWithKap #PerilousFight #Resist #WeMustWin by @visionary2003

How blessed am I to head Frank Johnson Recreation Center? Very! And nothing speaks to that like our Ribbon Cutting today which officially rolled out our voter approved 2.4 million dollar SPLOST renovation. Residents now have a completely rebooted outside with a softball-multipurpose field, tennis-pickleball court, adaptive playground, expanded parking, and more. Inside additions include a mini conference room and Matrix equipped workout room. Thanks to everyone, especially the citizens of Macon-Bibb for helping to facilitate this. We can’t wait to see you! #RecRules @FrankJohnson by @visionary2003

I can't stop smiling. ☺️The 5th annual Otis Redding Foundation birthday celebration of its namesake this past week was really something. Great energy, positive vibes, good times...all to raise funds for the foundation so it can continue giving youth a platform towards their dream of following in The Big O's footsteps. Every performer repped but Black Pumas front man Eric Burton and the legendary CeeLo Green the soul machine really went there. Thank Reddings...juss...thanks. 🙏🏾 by @visionary2003

My favorite Macon Film Festival flick this past weekend? "Brannu: The Urban Horseman". It's a brilliant look by Adelin Gasana at the ten year struggle of Brannu Fulton to maintain and control discarded South Fulton County land he purchased before development took place around him. While he's been unjustly arrested on a few occassions, successfuly fought numerous baseless legal fights, disparaged by evildoers and misportrayed by the media, Brannu is still standing and focused on the right to practice a legal peaceful way of life comprised of owning land and what's on it, and bringing the world together thru his gift and passion...horses. See this documentary! #BrannuTheUrbanHorseman by @visionary2003

What a pleasure meeting and greeting Muscogee Culture and Humanities Secretary RaeLynn Butler last evening during the Macon Film Festival affiliated Firestater Film viewing at the historic Douglass Theatre. Butler is an important component in her nation's effort to remain present and relevant despite centuries of attempts to erase Indigenous people. The repatriation (return of remains) of her ancestors is a large part of her work that she takes seriously and has proven to be quite effective. by @visionary2003

Great initial gathering of artists and music related pros from across the country at Mills Hill Arts Center yesterday courtesy of Macon based artist Kevin "Scene" Lewis. The eight hour event featured a panel discussion centered around music ownership and relationships, live painting, and a music showcase designed to enhance the presence of those involved in the platforms and Macon's place as an original and continued launching pad of artistic greatness like Little Richard and others. Well done "Scene"! 👏🏾 by @visionary2003
