HAPPY JUNETEENTH!!!!!

TAG (@mstinaknowles @parkwood @angiebeyince @kellyrowland )

My Ancestors were really the inspiration behind this shoot. They’ve paved more ways than one that’s led us to have the freedom we have today. American Requiem is about rebelling for a change. It’s why I used the BLACK American flag instead of the traditional red, white, and blue one. The Black American flag represents Black Lives Matter, dismantling oppression, and justice. I wanted a red background that signified the blood that’s been shed from my people. Using it to embody their power, pain, and passion. The black stallion represents freedom and independence. Their lives, their deaths, and their blood shed will not go in vain. This shoot represents a story of perseverance and embodying my ancestors manifestations they couldn’t live to see out 🥹.

“Them big ideas, are buried here…Amen”

All of the prayers, wishes, blood, sweat, and tears our people cried out are in the soil and ground we walk on.

We are the seeds that were planted years ago…how much have you grown into yourself?

Pilot. Pioneer. Activist.

Bessie Coleman refused to accept “no” in a world built to limit her.

Her story deserves more than a caption, so I wrote a blog. Link in bio⭐️

Working theory.

Proof of concept.

Read in between.

Leave it there.

Nothing to report.

No conclusion.
