There are events that take place all over town, and we love to showcase them, because there truly is so much to do in Bakersfield! We also want to make sure that if you’re an event organizer, that you’re getting your events in front of people. But we need your help! First Responder Challenge at the Rock Cobbler Trail Run—-Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Rio Bravo Ranch! Callin’ out all local fire, police, EMS, and military agencies to hit Bakersfield’s premier trail run and see who rules the dirt. How it works: The agency that brings the most runners (combined) across the finish line of the Boulder, Cobbler, or Pebbler takes home the ultimate bragging rights—and a massive, handcrafted, custom-built, red, white, and blue Adirondack chair complete with a custom plaque. Cruising Chester Ave - Streets of Bakersfield Cruizin’ Shine: the city’s largest street car show is happening this weekend. This footage was from tonight’s event which kicked off the show that goes through tomorrow, Saturday the 10th, from 9am to 4pm. Admission is free.
