Whilst we're waiting for some static displays of our wonderful heritage trams, Blackpool Transport has given one of its modern, second-generation trams a new look to pay tribute to its heritage.

Tram 012 first entered service in April 2012, but it’s now been wrapped in a green and cream livery reminiscent of the single-deck trams that were a common sight on the seafront during the 1950s 💚 by @visitblackpool

All three fire-breathing dragons have returned to Blackpool’s Tower Festival Headland for the Illuminations season.

Towering at 7 metres high and perched on medieval-style turrets, these illuminated beasts are inspired by Lancashire legends.

Watch as they blink, breathe smoke and even interact with The Blackpool Tower in a digital projection onto the building.

Scan the QR code nearby, choose your dragon and see it on the building!

Team South Africa is lighting up the skies tonight for the World Fireworks Championship Blackpool!

Just a quick heads-up on tonight’s schedule, things are kicking off a little earlier than the first display as we are chasing the tide:

🎇 Build-up starts: 7:15pm
🎇 Firing: 7:45pm

Looking for the best spot to watch the show?

Here are some of our top recommendations around town:

📍 Tower Festival Headland – Official prime viewing zone, right in the heart of all the action with food outlets
📍Blackpool Central Beach – A fantastic viewing spot
📍North & Central Pier – A different view from the side

The award-winning Stanley Park turns 100 on Friday 2 October and everyone is invited to join the celebrations at a special centenary event on Saturday 3 October.

The event will end with a spectacular drone show starting at 8pm by Celestial, the finalists of Britain’s Got Talent 2025.

A packed programme of free activities, live entertainment, family fun and special centenary moments will take place across the park throughout the day, including:

🌳 The switch-on of new lighting at the Italian Gardens fountain, Cocker Clock and around the park
🌳 Makers Market, fairground rides, walks and talks
🌳 Free sporting activities with Active Blackpool
🌳 Live entertainment throughout the day
🌳 And more!
