High wildfire risk | Risg uchel o dân gwylltYou’re very welcome in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park — but after a long spell of hot, dry weather, the landscape needs our help. These archive photographs from a wildfire in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) earlier this year show how quickly one spark can cause lasting damage. Now for your BCF 26 retrospective 😍!We kicked the festival off with an unforgettable morning at @theatrbrycheiniog for Y Canu Mawr / The Big Sing! 🎶✨Over 200 children aged 5–7 from schools across the Brecon cluster came together at Theatr Brycheiniog to perform Idwal the Giant / Idwal y Cawr Supported by the National Plan for Music, South Powys Youth Music, Mid Wales Music Trust and Williams Coaches, this wonderful project brought a traditional Welsh folk tale to life through a brand-new collection of songs composed by Alan and Kath Davies.Over two workshops in each school, the children developed their singing skills while learning the songs in both Welsh and English, with Makaton signing supporting communication and inclusion. From energetic warm-ups like Rubber Chicken and Pop the Balloon to expressive performances full of character, the enthusiasm and commitment of every child was a joy to see.The performance was made even more special by the stunning artwork created by each school, projected throughout the concert, and by a fantastic live band led by Ed Burfield, who also arranged the music for brass quintet. The biggest surprise came at the end, when Idwal the Giant himself (thanks to Jesse Ashby!) appeared to the delight of the children, who sang Idwal's Song / Cân Idwal with tremendous gusto:"He's hairy, he's scary, he makes you want to run!" 🎵A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this project such a success, especially,Lynette Thomas, Punch Maughan, Lynne Griffin and Claire Bradford for their incredible support, and to all the schools, sponsors, staff, musicians and families who made this celebration of music, storytelling and community so memorable! #breconchoirfestival by @visitbreconbeacons

A quiet evening, a rod in hand, the sun disappearing behind Pen y Fan and nothing to think about except the next cast…. Bliss 😌 Fishing isn’t always about catching fish. Sometimes it’s about catching your breath. A lovely way to spend an evening. Thank you to @walkingwithlauren for taking these photos whilst I was distracted 😂🎣🌅#penyfan #brecon #breconbeacons #fishingtherapy #bannaubrycheiniog by @visitbreconbeacons

A painting to transport you to the Brecon Beacons 🍃Created using an incredible reference photo by @henry.george.photo, this painting was inspired by a place that I get to admire from above: The Brecon Beacons.People often think flight sports are all about adrenaline. They’re not. They’re also about peace. Perspective. Awe.They’re about feeling tiny in the vastness of it all. About those rare moments when you’re completely present. I’ve watched red kites glide by my feet and felt completely insignificant in the best possible way. Those are the moments I wanted to capture in Where We Breathe. The original oil painting is now available to own (check my website), and limited edition prints will be released in just two weeks. Thinking about getting into paragliding? We know the right people. Drop us a message and we’ll happily point you in the right direction.I hope this piece transports you there 🍃You can see the painting @shellstoreheref for another few weeks. Today’s office came with sheep, parachutes, axes and very good pork rolls. The opening day of the Royal Welsh Show | @royal_welsh_show was a proper work-and-play day: useful conversations, plenty of catching up and time to enjoy the livestock, Horticulture Village, demonstrations, displays and food with friends. The Show continues until Thursday. If you’re heading to Llanelwedd, give yourself the full day — there is always more to see than you expect.Defaid, parasiwtiau, bwyeill a rholiau porc arbennig o dda — diwrnod gwaith ychydig yn wahanol heddiw.Roedd diwrnod cyntaf Sioe Frenhinol Cymru yn gymysgedd perffaith o waith a hwyl: sgyrsiau gwerthfawr, cyfle i ddal i fyny â ffrindiau ac amser i fwynhau’r da byw, Pentref Garddwriaeth, yr arddangosiadau a’r bwyd.Mae’r Sioe yn parhau tan ddydd Iau. Os ydych chi’n mynd i Lanelwedd, neilltuwch ddiwrnod cyfan — mae mwy i’w weld nag y byddech chi’n ei ddisgwyl.#SioeFrenhinolCymru #RoyalWelshShow #VisitWales #BannauBrycheiniog #TravelTradeWales by @visitbreconbeacons

What a way to spend a Saturday 🥾🌿💛✨It reminded me that hiking isn’t always about ticking off the biggest mountains here in little South Wales. It’s about just being outdoors, trying something new like going off the unbeaten track, meeting new people, supporting small businesses for after hike scooby snacks, sharing conversations and just simply enjoying the joy of being outside 💛Camp @cotopaxi.uk with @wehikewales x @uxplore.store community hike was exactly that. We hiked Ysgyryd Fach (Little Skirrid) starting right from outside the shop, we did a beautiful 7km circular route that took us around 2.5 hours at a relaxed, social pace. It gave us plenty of time to chat, take in the incredible views and get to know fellow outdoor lovers along the way ✨After the hike, we headed to @thedugoutcafebar for some seriously tasty pizza before finishing the day with ice cream from the amazing @shepherdsicecream 🍦A brilliant day spent with an even better community. Thank you to everyone who made it such a lovely afternoon and big thanks to the amazing Nia for founding such an amazing community here in South Wales!! Here’s to the next adventure 🥾💛🌿#campcotopaxi #wehikewales #communityhike #visitwales #bannaubrycheiniog by @visitbreconbeacons
