Wilma Rudolph’s life is proof that obstacles don’t get the final word. From battling polio and learning to walk again to standing on the world stage with three Olympic gold 🥇 , she reached the highest level of her sport 🏃🏾‍♀️.

But her courage wasn’t limited to the track. When she returned home to Clarksville after the 1960 Olympics, city leaders planned a celebration in her honor. Wilma refused to participate unless the parade and banquet were integrated. They agreed, helping make the celebration a landmark moment in Clarksville’s desegregation. Her victory became bigger than medals.

Her sheroism still stands as a testament in time, overcome the obstacle, reach back for your community, and use your platform to move something forward.

The history behind this downtown Clarksville pub goes well beyond pizza and beer.

Started in 1992 by a local helicopter pilot, @blackhorsebrews began as a small burger joint before expanding into the pizza-and-beer brewery it is today.

Blackhorse Pub & Brewery has stayed part of Clarksville through a tornado, a fire, and more than three decades of change. The beer cheese and pizza are a good place to start, but the story is worth knowing too.
