The Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival is in FULL SWING!! 🎃☀️

Now that the parade is underway, here’s our game plan you can steal for the rest of the day:

Grab some festival food (and hopefully some pumpkin ice cream 🍦 cause it’s hot out here), check out the local art (local HMB artists are everywhere), catch some live music, and probably take a selfie with the big ‘ol pumpkins from the annual weigh-off that are on display.

☀️ A little local tip: Bring your sunscreen! And if you’re planning to stick around into the evening, pack a light jacket. It’ll cool down once the sun starts setting.

Travis Gienger of Anoka, Minnesota, won the Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off for the fifth time today. His 2,389 lb pumpkin, Rocky, was the heaviest at the 53rd annual weigh-off, though it came up short of the 2,749 lb record he set in 2023. Congratulations, Travis! These giant gourds are only the beginning, the Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival will fill Main Street this weekend, 9 AM to 5 PM both days. by @visithalfmoonbay

A Half Moon Bay farm that has all the classic autumn activities in one place 🧡
~
I spent a fun few hours at @andreottifamilyfarmsofficial, and it was the perfect way to get into the fall spirit. This family-owned farm in @visithalfmoonbay has a pumpkin patch, U-pick sunflower field, corn maze, hay rides and lots of cute photo ops 🍁

🎃 Pumpkin patch entry is free, and there are 68 varieties to choose from!

🌻 Online U-pick sunflower tickets include up to 10 stems, compared to 8 stems for $20 with in-person tickets. U-pick tickets are limited through October 15 while more fields bloom. Field-only tickets (just for photos) are still available online, so check their website for current availability before you go!

🌽 The all-access ticket covers entry to the pumpkin patch, sunflower field and corn maze, plus a free medium-sized pumpkin to take home.

🥾 Wear boots or closed-toe shoes if you’re visiting the sunflower field or corn maze since it can get muddy and the ground is uneven.

🚗 The farm has two locations. One is the pumpkin patch, while the other is their produce stand. Make sure you put the correct address into your GPS!

Last year, Brandon Dawson of Santa Rosa took home the prize with a pumpkin that weighed 2,346 pounds. The Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off returns Monday, October 12, at 7:00 AM. With the early start, the best way to see it is to come out on Sunday and wake up already here. by @visithalfmoonbay
