🍥☕ 🫖 🍂Sunday is Cinnamon Bun Day in Sweden. And yes is an actual day. In the actual calendar. Named after a pastry and something to take very seriously. 🍥☕ 🫖 🍂

Here's how it works. You walk into a café in Helsingborg, you order a "kanelbulle" and a coffee, you sit down, and you stay longer than you planned. That's it. That's the holiday. It's called fika, and it's less a coffee break than a national skill.

One warning: bakeries sell out early on this particular Sunday. Ask your favourite if you can preorder – trust us on this one.

A few ground rules:

🍥Warm beats cold. Always.
🍥The pearl sugar on top is not a garnish. It's the point.
🍥 One is a beginning, not a quantity.
🍥 Walking between cafés and strolling around in the city centre counts as exercise.

So where's the best cinnamon bun in Helsingborg? Drop your favourite in the comments – we know you have opinions. 👇

See you Sunday with crumbs on the jumper and no regrets. Yum!

Harvest season is here in full volume! 🍎🎪 This Sunday, 27 September, Fredriksdal opens its grounds for Mikaeli marknad – Helsingborg's big harvest festival, and one of the best days of the year to get lost in a crowd.

🧺 Around 80 stallholders: food crafts, locally grown flowers, ceramics, jewellery and the season's fruit and veg
🔥 Something hot off the grill, something sweet, something to take home
🧶 Try your hand at old crafts – card and spin wool, bind brushes, print postcards
🐄 A playful family exhibition about the heritage farm animals that have shared people's everyday lives for centuries
🎠 New this year: a small fairground for kids with hand-cranked carousels and old-fashioned market games.

Add horse and cart rides, circus, dancing, a vintage bus, working printing presses, and a giant pile of straw to jump into. Bring an appetite and comfortable shoes.

📍 Fredriksdal Museums and Gardens, Gisela Trapps väg 1
🗓 Sunday 27 September, 10am–5pm
🎟 175 SEK. Free for children and young people up to 18 (under 16 with an adult). Full programme at fredriksdal.se

🍂 Autumn is culture season in Helsingborg 🍂
As the evenings get darker, Helsingborg’s concert halls, stages and galleries light up with a new season of music, theatre and art.

🎶 At Helsingborg Concert Hall, Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra has opened its 2026/27 season. This autumn brings everything from classical masterpieces and internationally acclaimed soloists to Nordic after-work concerts and unexpected musical encounters.

🎭 At Helsingborg City Theatre, the autumn season is already in full swing. Step into the world of Billy Elliot, the much-loved musical with music by Elton John, or discover the intriguing story of Jane Horney’s Last Hours on the intimate Lillan stage.

🎨 At Dunkers Kulturhus, there’s always something new to discover. Coming up in October are Kateryna Lysovenko’s Allt är möjligt and Tyst! Jag ser på tv. – a nostalgic journey through Swedish television memories.

Three cultural landmarks, all within walking distance of each other – and plenty of reasons to spend an autumn day (or evening) in Helsingborg. 🍁
What would you choose first: music, theatre or art?

Our best summer… yet! ☀️🌊 Helsingborg welcomed a record-breaking summer in 2026. More people explored the city centre, Väla set a new visitor record, Sofiero welcomed even more guests – and hotel stays increased in June and July. And what a summer it was. 💙

🎶 Concerts and festivals
⚽ Football and summer events
🌍 8,500 singers from around the world at the World Choir Games
🏖️ Beaches and sea views
🌸 Parks and gardens
🍽️ Food, shopping and city life

With this in close memory we head towards another winterseason that offers cold bathing, hiking, cycling, golf (yes, you read it), culture and great food experiences make the city worth discovering all year round.

Already visited us this summer? Come back and discover another side of Helsingborg. ✨🌊

🍁🍷 "People come here the way they'd come to their own living room. A boy who knocked on the bakery door at five, asking for cinnamon buns, had his graduation party here in June." says Anna Borgskog at Château Forêt

Warm room, low light, three people running the whole thing. Château Forêt sits on Södra Storgatan, and the menu is short and changes with what's available: European cooking that starts with Skåne's own growers and farmers. Vegetables carry the plates, and when there's meat, the whole animal gets used. Dinner Tuesday to Friday, plus Saturdays that turn into something of their own: asparagus dinners, national day lunch, Oktoberfest. What began as a sourdough bakery and café in 2008, opened by three brothers. In 2013 they kept the lights on into the evening, and it became a restaurant.

Look up while you eat! The walls hold 1930s murals by Helsingborg artist Hugo Gehlin, painted when this was one of the city's Helma beer halls, opened in 1930. "Merchants of every kind find great pleasure here." They're being restored right now with help from a crowdfunding.

With the continent this close, people do travel for a table here – most of all in spring and autumn. 🍁🍷

Look up! 👀 And sometimes down. 🚁 Early fall is the best time for a slow walk through Helsingborg. Long shadows, warm evening air, and architecture that can be read as a timeline. ☀️

⚓ Norra Hamnen
From above you see it clearly: the wooden boardwalk, the boats lined up, the terraces filling as the sun drops. This is the city's late-summer living room – walk the quay and let the evening take as long as it wants.

🪵 Springpostgränden
Narrow, crooked, full of stories. Home to the city's first telegraph office, and still charmingly photogenic. Look up at the bay window – then stop by @telegrafenhelsingborg on the corner. 🍻

🏛️ Drottninggatan 57
Early 1900s with Jugend in the details. Tall windows, ornament where you least expect it, and the air of a building that's been watching city life for a century.

🏰 Kärnan
Start at the bottom of the terrace stairs and let the tower reveal itself step by step. Brick, blunt, older than almost everything around it. The climb is a workout, the view is the reward. 🇸🇪

🎨 Dunkers Kulturhus
Kim Utzon's sculptural landmark opened in 2002, facing the sea. @dunkerskultur is the modern heart of the city – and the lookout on top is the best seat in town for sunsets and ferry-watching. ⛴️

🏡 Norra Storgatan 9 (Gamlegård)
One of the oldest half-timbered houses left in town, from the 1700s. Jean Baptiste Bernadotte spent his first night in Sweden here in 1810, later King Karl XIV Johan. 👑

🌊 Redaregatan 41
Copper-toned and rounded at the entrance, this Oceanhamnen newcomer looks like a stylish sci-fi set or an ocean liner about to cross the Atlantic. 💫

Where's your late-summer walk taking you?

🏃🏃🏾‍♀️Some call it Sweden's most beautiful run. We call it the scenic route. 🌳🌊✨

Tomorrow the city becomes the course when Helsingborg Marathon is back and the whole of Helsingborg gets a front-row seat! Marathon, half marathon, relay and Kids Run all set off from Sundstorget outside Dunkers, wind through the old town and past Kärnan, out through Tågaborg, Pålsjö skog and Laröd and come home along the Seaside Promenade to one of the most beautiful finishes in Sweden.

🎉 And the best part? You don't need to be a runner to join the party! 🎉 Grab a sign, bring your cheer squad, and help carry those runners around the course – see the full route and start times at helsingborgmarathon.se

And if you're driving on Saturday – plan ahead. Parts of the city are closed to traffic during the race, so check the course before you set off. 💚
