A year ago, I visited Hvar for the first time, and it completely stole my heart. 💙 @visithvarhr ✨🌊

Out of all the Croatian islands I’ve explored, Hvar is still my favourite. There’s something about the mix of crystal-clear Adriatic waters, charming stone streets, lavender-covered hills and those endless golden sunsets that keeps calling me back.
Some places leave an impression, but Hvar left me planning my return before I’d even left. And I already know this won’t be my last visit.
If you’re dreaming of an island that perfectly blends relaxation, history, incredible food and unforgettable scenery, Hvar deserves a spot at the top of your list.

Perna na Paklenim otocima izgleda kao da je netko malo pretjerao s bojom mora. Samo što ovdje nema filtera. 🌊
Uska uvala, stijene, nestvarno prozirno more i potpuni mir. Jedno od onih mjesta na kojima poželiš da brod jednostavno zaboravi doći po tebe.

Perna on the Pakleni Islands looks like someone went a little too far with the colour of the sea. Except there is no filter here. 🌊
A narrow bay, rocks, unbelievably clear water and complete peace. One of those places where you secretly hope the boat forgets to come back for you.

HVARSKA ČIPKA OD AGAVE
Od snažnog lista agave do gotovo nevidljive niti i mjeseci strpljivog rada.
U srcu Hvara, iza zidova benediktinskog samostana, generacijama se čuva jedno od najposebnijih umijeća našeg otoka – izrada čipke od niti agave.
Svaki je primjerak jedinstven, a za izradu većih radova potrebno je čak pet do šest mjeseci.
Od 2009. hvarska čipka dio je UNESCO-ove nematerijalne kulturne baštine čovječanstva, zajedno s čipkarskim tradicijama Paga i Lepoglave.
Povodom Međunarodnog dana čipke zavirili smo malo dublje u ovu posebnu hvarsku priču.
Kako nastaje čipka od agave, zašto joj bura ne odgovara i kakvu ulogu u njezinoj priči imaju hvarske benediktinke?

HVAR AGAVE LACE
From a strong agave leaf to an almost invisible thread – and months of patient work.
In the heart of Hvar, behind the walls of the Benedictine convent, one of the island’s most distinctive crafts has been preserved for generations: lace made from fine agave threads.
Each piece is unique, with larger works taking up to five or six months to complete.
Since 2009, Hvar lace has been part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, together with the lacemaking traditions of Pag and Lepoglava.
To mark International Lace Day, we took a closer look at this remarkable Hvar tradition.
