The Marine Mammal Care Center is coming to the Redondo Beach waterfront in the South Bay 🦭

The Marine Mammal Care Center and the City of Redondo Beach held a media event on the waterfront to announce the news, made possible by a major state grant and private donations.

Here’s where the funding stands:
$15M in Prop 4 funds from this year’s state budget, secured by Senators Laura Richardson and Ben Allen
$17M in matching donor funds

That’s $32 million raised toward the $65 million campaign, moving the project into its next phase.

Next up for the Marine Mammal Care Center in Redondo Beach: negotiating a lease with the city and starting construction on a new marine mammal hospital and education center right here on the South Bay Los Angeles coastline.

What an incredible turnout for the first annual King Harbor Association Oktoberfest! 🥨🍻 Thank you to everyone who came out to make our inaugural event such a success. We learned so much from this first year, and you can bet we’re already planning to come back bigger and bolder next year!
