Visitor visits @theoutsidein , a conceptual café tucked inside Outside In, a modern makeup and skincare store in the heart of SoHo.

Designed by @fogarchitecture After walking through Outside In’s beautifully designed retail space, a warm orange glow leads into the café. Reminiscent of James Turrell’s work, the lighting washes the entire space in a soft, atmospheric warmth. Hidden in the back, a lush garden with intimate seating offers a quiet escape from the streets of SoHo.

The details feel equally considered—from sculptural yet comfortable bar chairs to carefully selected materials and decor. Coffee and pastries are just as impressive: the salted foam cold brew was one of the best I’ve had, and the pastries were exceptional.

Part café, part retail, part hidden garden—Outside In brings design, beauty, and coffee together into one thoughtfully curated experience.

A summery outdoor patio and cascading greenery that stretches from the ceiling to the exterior immediately catch the eye. Inside, the space feels cozy, green, and almost tropical—as if stepping away from Brooklyn and into a lush forest somewhere in Thailand.

The extensive menu leaves plenty to explore, from colorful cocktails and seafood to classic Thai dishes. With its immersive atmosphere and wide selection of food and drinks, Lemongrass Brooklyn offers a playful escape from the city and a different take on Thai dining.

Visitor was invited to @zoosindang_nyc , a concept-driven Korean speakeasy in Midtown inspired by Korean shamanism and the Chinese zodiac.

Entering through a café, guests follow a hidden staircase lined with shamanic charms and statues before arriving in a dark, intimate room with Korean and Chinese characters carved across the ceiling. The cocktail menu is built around the 12 Chinese zodiac signs, inviting you to choose a drink based on your birth year. Each cocktail arrives with a theatrical, almost ritual-like presentation that carries the concept through to the smallest details.

Even the bar bites become part of the experience—from complimentary injeolmi served in a Korean mother-of-pearl box to a folding-screen-inspired menu. Small in footprint but rich in detail, Zoo Sin Dang commits fully to its concept, creating a distinctive experience unlike much else in New York City.

Premium cuts are grilled tableside with precision, but the menu also shines beyond barbecue. Polished yet welcoming, it’s as good for an affordable lunch as it is for a more elevated dinner.

Inspired by nights in Hong Kong and Taipei, 929 blends Canto-pop, Mando-pop, live music, and jazz within a refined yet intimate setting. Vinyl records and retro albums line the walls, while red banquettes, moody lighting, and a tucked-away group room in the back create an atmosphere that feels distinctly transportive.

The bar bites are thoughtful and addictive, with every dish we tried feeling just as considered as the cocktails. Each drink is unique, beautifully designed, and well executed, with both the food and cocktail experience carefully tuned to the bar’s deep connection to music.

929 isn’t just a bar—it’s a soundtrack-driven experience where design, flavor, and rhythm come together. A little portal to 1980s Hong Kong in the middle of Manhattan.

The drinks and desserts lean polished and premium. With plenty of seating, it’s an easy spot to settle in.

Specializing in Gukbap, a beloved rice soup known for its warmth and simplicity, the space channels a humble, communal spirit. Inside, a long open kitchen and communal bar set the tone. Bojagi textiles, curved walls, and dark wood bring subtle Korean textures with a modern restraint. From metal plates to ceramic pots, every detail feels thoughtful.
