An exclusive look of the reopening of Crystal Cave in Sequoia National Park. After four long years which included a massive fire and subsequent floods, this natural wonder is finally open to the public. This was a huge team effort from multiple federal and local agencies and countless hard working men and women. We owe a special debt of gratitude to the Sequoia Parks Conservancy and the Sequoia National Park management who jointly operate, mange and protect this fragile ecosystem.

Created millions of years ago Crystal Cave is one of over 240 caves that can be found in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National parks. However it is the biggest and most popular of the two caves that are open to the public. From delicate crystal draperies to towering stalagmites, every feature tells a story millions of years in the making. A constant 50 degrees, this magnificent cavern is the perfect escape from summer heat.

Reservations must be made before traveling to visit Crystal Cave which can be purchased online or at the visitor centers found in the park. Don’t miss out!!!

IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING!!! We are starting a hiking club based in and around Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

Mountain Trekking Adventures Hiking Club will lead an adventure once a month with difficultly levels ranging from easy to very challenging…and everything in between. We pride our club on being ALL INCLUSIVE, making our hikes available to everyone who would like to share an adventure.

Our priorities are to have fun, learn a lot, meet new people and stay safe. We love taking tons of pics and videos to show our friends and family. Our goal is to practice “Leave No Trace” principals and respect all.

MTA hiking club will provide:
-fully equipped local professional guides trained in wilderness first aid and map reading.
-a meeting time and location for each adventure.
-relevant information needed for each adventure beforehand.
-walkie talkies.
