Falling for Roscoe is an Old-School Block Party on Saturday, October 3rd

Live music, a bounce house, a cake walk and a street full of local makers take over downtown Roscoe from 12 to 4 pm, rain or shine

ROSCOE, NY. Trout Town USA is closing the street and opening the party. On Saturday, October 3rd, from 12 to 4 pm, the Roscoe Block Party brings the whole town downtown for an afternoon of food, music, games and neighbors. Stewart Avenue will be closed to traffic and filled with vendors, activities and live music. The fun spills around the corner onto Union Street, where The Hound Books and Do Good Spirits are hosting more to do.

It’s a block party the way you remember them. Kids can take on the bounce house, carve a pumpkin and get their faces painted. At 2 pm, the classic cake walk starts: walk the circle, stop when the music stops, and you might go home with a homemade cake. The photo booth is there for the family picture, and Beaverkill Angler has a jar of dry flies waiting for your best guess. Join photographers Isaac Jeffreys and Marisa Scheinfeld at the Roscoe Collective for ‘Greetings from Roscoe’, an illustrated conversation with moderator Ahu Terzi of @thehoundbooks.

Drawing from photographs, postcards, brochures, and other ephemera, they’ll explore Roscoe‘s place in the Borscht Belt story, illuminating the destinations and summer culture that helped define the town. The program will also feature a preview of both artists’ upcoming book projects, and Isaac Jeffreys will exhibit a selection of new work based in Roscoe.

Join us on Saturday, July 11 as we celebrate the unveiling of our 17th historic marker in Roscoe, perched on the northern edge of the Borscht Belt.

Once a key hub for rail travel, rivers, and mountain life, Roscoe continues to serve as both a gateway and a gathering place for visitors and locals alike.

The dedication begins at 4:00 PM at the Roscoe O&W Museum. Speakers include Fred Holtz, PhD, who spent 25 summers at the Campbell Inn.

At 5:00 PM, head to the Roscoe Collective for “Greetings from Roscoe”, an illustrated talk with photographers Isaac Jeffreys (@isaacjeffreys) and Marisa Scheinfeld (@marisascheinfeld) in conversation with Ahu Terzi of @thehoundbooks.

Through rarely seen photos and ephemera, they’ll bring Roscoe’s Borscht Belt era to life, highlighting the architecture and distinctive vacation culture of the town’s resort years.

The artists will also give a sneak peek at their upcoming publications, and Isaac Jeffreys will also exhibit a selection of his work. Food and cocktails will be available during the program.
