I can remember almost everything about that day— in the office, normal day.

Then news of the first plane, then news of the next plane, then news of the Pentagon….then news later of the heroes in Shanksville, PA.

My friend sobbing uncontrollably because her uncle works in the Pentagon.

Wondering if my friends & co-workers were in or near the Towers that day.

Where was my brother-in-law who also worked in the city?

As a young adult this day changed how I view the world, hardened my vision of other people. For the first time I realized there is true evil walking the Earth, possibly right next to me.

But then NYC rallied unlike anything seen before. United is an understatement. Love filled the city and country. Just watch snippets from the MLB games that followed— first the Mets and then the Yankees.

It’s 25 years later and still feels like yesterday, still scares me while keeping me hopeful.

We Remember.

The hearts in our Mobile Bay community are heavy. Over the past weeks we’ve lost precious members unexpectedly, including parents & young lives, each with so much ahead of them.

We pray for every family & friend who is mourning with us. May the Heavenly Father give comfort in the quiet moments. by @visitstoried
