Local maker Robert Garret has been perfecting his hand-folded ornaments for years, and these beauties have become a year-round go-to gift for our local customers. We're always excited when Robert stops by to restock, and things get especially exciting when he starts filling our shelves for the holiday rush!

This week, he showed up with TWO HUGE boxes for us to dig through. Needless to say, we had some decisions to make.

Come by the gallery today and see what we have! At $20 each, these make great gifts for board members, coworkers, teachers, neighbors, or that upcoming White Elephant/Dirty Santa situation you may or may not be prepared for. by @visual_index_handmade

Here we are with another staff pick and today we're featuring one of Jessie's favorite pieces- "What's Inside a Girl?" by Soft Rat Studio.

"I adore Soft Rat Studio's work, especially this piece. I'd like to think if you cut me open a bunch of glittery guts, confetti and cute things would spill out, too! I love how their work plays with the tension between cute and creepy with a nod to vintage illustration." - Jessie by @visual_index_handmade

Hellllooooo! It's Toni from Visual Index, where we carry art from all 50 states.

⚡Today I'm featuring the work of California maker Barbie Levy and her incredible earrings. These are lightweight, won't upset your sensitive skin, and come with a fun feature of a built-in back that secures the earrings to your ear so they won't fall out! YAY! Shop these in person or on the online store. visualindex.co/ by @visual_index_handmade

Please help us welcome Indiana maker Heartell Press to the Visual Index crew. We're excited to carry work by real people making art while living real lives. ❤️

"We are a women-owned and operated small business based in Indiana. Our story started when printmaker and illustrator Rachel Kroh was inspired to hand-carve woodblocks and print them to make cards after she had trouble finding the kind of warm, sincere designs she wanted to send to her mom who was diagnosed with cancer in 2012. Since then we have grown to a small but mighty team of five, committed to helping you savor every moment of feeling, flavor, sensation and connection with the people who matter most to you."- Heartell Press by @visual_index_handmade

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: sheesh—I love my customers so much.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who walks into Visual Index with a little lighthearted curiosity. It’s genuinely a pleasure getting to know all of you, hearing your stories, watching what catches your eye, and sending you back out into the world with something that made you smile.

You’re pretty darn wonderful. by @visual_index_handmade
