FrontRange H2O President Brent Waller recently spoke with ISCO Industries, a leading provider of HDPE piping products, fusion equipment and technical services for water and infrastructure projects, about The Vita H2O Project™. Their conversation explores how the project is designed to work alongside existing surface supplies as a drought and firming tool for northern Colorado, along with the role of aquifer storage and recovery and why HDPE was selected for the project’s long-term pipeline infrastructure.

A milestone more than 10 years in the making.

On May 28, we officially broke ground on The Vita H2O Project™ at the future site of the project's water treatment plant.

From exploratory work in 2016 to today's construction milestone, this project represents years of planning, engineering, testing and collaboration focused on strengthening northern Colorado's water future.

As construction begins, we're grateful for the partners, community leaders and neighbors who joined us to celebrate this important day.

Big news for northern Colorado!

FrontRange H2O has officially acquired non-tributary groundwater rights from the Lazy D Grazing Association in Weld County, securing an additional 19,466 acre-feet per year from the Upper Laramie Aquifer. This is a key step for The Vita H2O Project™ and a major move toward ensuring a sustainable water future for our region.

We are excited to announce that FrontRange H2O, the developer of The Vita H2O Project™, has acquired control of substantial non-tributary groundwater rights from the Lazy D Grazing Association, Inc. (the Lazy D), a ranching association with more than 25,000 acres in northern Weld County, Colorado.

This acquisition marks a major milestone in the development of The Vita H2O Project, securing fully-decreed reusable groundwater beneath the Lazy D property, sourced from the Upper Laramie Aquifer (ULA). Read more in the press release here: https://vitah2oproject.com/lazy-d-water-rights/.

We’re making headlines! Check out this recent article in the @denvergazette about how The Vita H2O Project is supporting Fort Collins Loveland Water District (@fcwld_info) by integrating non-tributary groundwater with surface water to improve drought protection, enhance reliability, reduce dependence on any single source and strengthen supply diversification.

The greatest impact for FCLWD and other water providers is that they will be able to use this water during critical drought periods, giving the community peace of mind.
