This past summer, a quiet pocket in #KingCity area experienced every homeowner’s worst nightmare: a targeted string of break-ins. My client and several direct neighbors were hit in quick succession.

The primary point of entry? - those terrible builder-grade double swing French doors leftover from 1980s Ontario home builds. Those traditional double doors where both panels swing open offer horrible thermal insulation, ugly center sightlines, and virtually zero physical security. Because both doors meet in the middle without a solid fixed frame, a single hard kick or a firm shoulder around the centre latch pops them open in a second. Small children routinely push them open by accident.

After filing the police reports, the client made a firm decision to completely eliminate the double-door opening and replace it with the #European #liftandslide system.

Take a close look at the glass in the photo below. What you’re seeing isn’t some cheap aftermarket tint or film stuck on with a squeegee that will bubble and peel in two seasons. That is true, factory-integrated European high-security glass with high reflectivity built directly into the insulated unit.

A few specs that show why this is in a completely different engineering universe:

- Each individual panel weighs over 175 kilograms (385+ lbs). Feels like a tank but glides effortlessly with one hand; dropping the handle engages high-endurance multi-point steel locking hardware that pins the door into the frame.

- Weak center latch points are replaced with structural European aluminum and high-security glazing.

The almost comical part? @eurostarwindows final quote came in virtually on par price-wise with a domestic vinyl supplier who tried to price-gouge the homeowner simply because of their postal code and laminated glass request. I see this disgusting practice happening in the #windowsanddoors industry across the GTA every single month — charging elite prices for cheap plastic profiles with nylon rollers just because a house is in a good neighborhood.

Our team recently completed a high-end residential installation featuring an oversized, high-performance #European #aluminum system weighing over half a ton.

With zero clearance between properties in this tightly built neighborhood, side-yard transport was impossible. We maneuvered the system and triple IGU to the rear elevation by hoisting the entire assembly directly over the building using a precision crane setup.

Delivering complex #architectural #vision requires rigorous planning, expert rigging, and flawless execution. Excellent work by our installation crew and partners on a successful project.

When a new client found @eurostarwindows online and reached out to me for an estimate to replace an outdated PVC window, I was eager to provide a genuine modern solution. Their existing window had reached the end of its lifespan—featuring multiple failed glass units and a glare-heavy commercial silver spacer that threw blinding reflections for half the day while offering virtually zero thermal performance.

Before finding us, the client had received quotes from domestic competitors exceeding $20,000 for a single window. I constantly see domestic companies present bloated #MSRP prices only to offer high-pressure, "today-only" 53% discounts — all to rush homeowners into signing for disposable, #buildergrade domestic #vinyl #windows.
