The last piece of the puzzle. You've watched it come together — here's the whole staircase, start to finish.

A custom spiral that winds from the rooftop of a beachfront home all the way down, every arch its own shape, curving cleanly around the center. Nothing straight, nothing repeated. Modern coastal staircase inspiration for beach houses, luxury cottages, and homes where the architecture is the statement.

Building a home where the details carry the design? This is the kind of work we love doing at Southern Staircase. #customstaircase #spiralstaircase #staircasedesign #finewoodworking #woodworking #architecture #luxuryhomes #coastalhome #beachhouse #homedesign #craftsmanship #architecturaldetails #dreamhome #luxuryliving #stairgoals #customstairs #coastalliving #Vitorestanqueiro #stairsbysouthern #oneteam #southernstaircase #lovethecraft #keepthecraftalive by @vitor.estanqueiro

Staircase, or art installation you're technically allowed to walk on? There's a reason spiral staircases cost what they do.

Every single arch has to feed off the next — nothing square, nothing straight, the whole thing winding cleanly around the center while still feeling solid underfoot. It's some of the most demanding work on the job, and when it's done, it's the first thing anyone notices.

This one lives on the coast, wrapped in white and open to the ocean on every side. Those little cut-out details in each arch were worth every extra hour devoted to getting it just right.

Building a home where the details actually matter? This is exactly the kind of work we love doing. #customstaircase #spiralstaircase #woodworking #staircasedesign #coastalhome #craftsmanship #architecturaldetails #beachhouse #vitorestanqueiro #oneteam #stairsbysouthern #southernstaircasecharleston #southernstaircaseraleigh #lovethecraft #keepthecraftalive #luxuryliving #luxuryarchitecture taken in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina by @vitor.estanqueiro

Every curve here began as a straight board.

This spiral staircase was built for a home right on the beach. On the deck it looked almost like sculpture — a stack of white rings waiting to become a modern architectural spiral staircase.

Curves like these don't happen by accident. They happen by design, by vision, and by the craftsmanship of a team all working toward the same line.

This staircase in Porto, Portugal? It'll stop you mid-step - Livraria Lello, est. 1906. For those of us with roots in Portugal, places like this aren't just beautiful. They're a reminder of how much craft and soul a small country pours into its everyday spaces. A bookshop here isn't just a store. It's a cathedral for stories. 🇵🇹 If you ever find yourself in Porto, go early and let yourself look up.

Classic silhouette. Clean lines. Warm wood against crisp white. Wainscoting that carries the eye upward. This remodel started with a full strip-out — then the laser goes on, every measurement mapped before a single post goes in. Piece by piece, the entrance becomes something the home deserves. Swipe to see the full transformation. #staircaseremodel #beforeandafter #customstaircase #stairbuilder #skilledtrades #craftsmanship #woodworking #stairsbysouthern #vitorestanqueiro #oldworldcraft #interiordesign #customhome #keepcraftalive #charlestonhomes by @vitor.estanqueiro

A pine handrail, freshly shaped, still wearing its wood shavings. This curve didn't come off a shelf — every bend was worked until the wood agreed with the design. But shaping it is only half the challenge. Drilling perfectly consistent baluster holes along a curve — that's where it gets interesting. Stay tuned. #customhandrail #pine #woodworking #staircasedesign #stairbuilder #skilledtrades #craftsmanship #stairsbysouthern #vitorestanqueiro #oldworldcraft #theprocess #keepcraftalive #charlestonhomes by @vitor.estanqueiro

How do you find balance in a curve? Perfect is not a feeling. It's a bubble sitting still. The arch is precision cut, but every layer still has to be checked by hand before you move on. One bubble off, and the whole railing fights you. This is the part nobody sees — the double-checking, the patience, the not moving on until it's right.
