It’s been over 2 weeks since you transitioned and a week since we’ve said goodbye to your physical presence.

My aunt Joy said to me, “You should be so proud you gave him his flowers while he was here.” and that really stuck with me. Because honoring you was a daily habit … a habit out of pure love.

the moments i spent with you playing dominos, talking about Jamaica or cooking fish are truly priceless. Spending time with you was never out of force but always wanting to be around you and soak up your love and knowledge. Never too busy to call or make your meals. Never leaving you without saying, “i love you.”Just doing what a grandchild wanted to do and should do.

While i struggle to live this new normal without you … i embrace my village even tighter. Thank you to ALL who sent love. prayers. food. flowers and extended their hearts and thoughts to me. by @vivalacarla

my heart is HURTING. but i smile because EYE was able to witness and be a part of an amazing legacy.

i know ppl don’t live forever - but he was different. this one is so heavy

you are the definition of hard work. perseverance and what it means to have a dream life.

from the MANY lessons and memories. to the heart to heart conversations. to becoming your sous chef AND getting my butt whooped in dominos

being a godparent isn’t given but always earned. A title that means so much more than just being a regular aunt/uncle. Y’all know my godmother but let me talk about 1 of my big bad godfathers bc i’ve been blessed with 2.

a man who took the title/role to heart and never played about me. always was a voice of reason and never let too much time go by to tell me he loved me. A true father figure ❤️

heartbroken and empty barely scratch the surface for how i feel but just know i love YOU madly as you would say.

to the man who taught me how to ride a bike with and w/o training wheels. how to appreciate the earth. who taught me my hands are my greatest tools. a man of amazing lineage. A man of love and realism. My grandfather. Here’s to partying like it’s 1922. Here’s to 100 years.
