For Father’s Day weekend at @davidyurman , their leather valet trays were an absolute dream to hot foil. Guests could personalize either side, and the foil pressed into the leather and suede beautifully.

A few highlights:

• Getting to wear David Yurman jewelry and a gorgeous handbag while I worked (my first time being styled for an event!).
• Discovering that wagyu hot dogs absolutely deserve the hype. (Vendor meals = live event artist love language. IYKYK)

Once the evening picked up, I hardly looked up. The second half of the activation was a steady stream of personalization, conversations with guests, and beautifully foiled valet trays.

As the event wrapped up, unexpected weather kept several VIP clients from making it to the store. Rather than extending the activation, the team sent me home with another batch of valet trays to personalize in the studio so those guests could still receive a personalized Father’s Day gift. I loved that we were able to find a solution that made sure no one missed out.

Thank you again to the entire David Yurman team for your kindness and hospitality. It was such a pleasure meeting your staff and VIP clients.

Special shoutout to Jen @shemadeitlikethat for the referral 🫶 I appreciate you!!

Live personalization is one of my favorite parts of what I do. Every event is a little different, but creating something meaningful for each guest is always the goal. by @vivelaplume.studio

From concept to completion—this is always my favorite part.

What began as a conversation around torn edges and organic movement came to life through guest interaction, styled tables, and a space layered with texture and intention. Seeing the calligraphy pieces photographed in context—place cards in guests’ hands, menus resting on the table—is incredibly rewarding.

Under FOAM Creative’s thoughtful direction, every detail felt purposeful, from the paper story to the breathtaking bathtub floral installation by @toppedoffco . An honor to contribute calligraphy & stationery to such a beautifully immersive experience for philosophy.

Grateful for the collaboration, the trust, and the opportunity to see this work fully alive beyond the studio.

You voted, so here’s how I filled them! ✨ A little crossover between my baking supplies and my engraving kit.

Inspired by my pal @signedbysuki I’m using empty lip gloss tubes to hold my gold and silver Rub ’n Buff for a prettier, tidier on-site setup.

I figured there had to be an easy way to get the wax into those little tubes—and then remembered my cookie-decorating supplies! Small piping bags were the key. I used a bench scraper to move the wax toward the tip, then piped it into each tube with very little mess or waste.

A few tips if you try it:

• Use small cookie-decorating piping bags for easier filling.
• Remember to put the silicone inserts in after filling. They help keep excess wax off the applicator and prevent leaks.
• Let the filled tubes sit overnight before using them. I found that this gave the wax time to work into the applicator so I could use it much like a Q-tip, without needing separate ones on site.

So far, they’ve worked beautifully and haven’t dried out. I’ll report back on how they hold up over time, but I’ll be keeping my original tubes in my event kit as backup while I put these to the test. You know I like to be prepared! 😉

Save this for your next kit refresh, and if you have questions about the process, leave them below. I’m happy to help! 🖤 by @vivelaplume.studio

Two weeks ago, I quietly closed my Etsy shop. A small decision that felt like a big milestone. 🤍

Vive La Plume Studio was already around when I opened the shop almost two years ago, but I wasn’t taking on the larger projects that fill my calendar today. Etsy was a way to help new customers find me and introduce my pressed floral place cards. I had developed a special adhesive process that took a lot of time and care, but created such a beautiful result.

More than 711 place cards later and 41 sales (with all reviews being 5-stars, if I can toot my own horn for a sec), those little pieces have given me so much. Writing that many names helped me refine my calligraphy, discover what I loved, and develop what has become my own personal hand. You can actually see that progression from the beginning of this reel to the end. They helped shape both my business and the artist behind it.

I’m so grateful for every customer who trusted me with a detail of their celebration, and for the role Etsy played in helping my business grow.

But my business has moved into chapters I couldn’t have imagined when I opened that shop. The work coming to me outside of Etsy has been more than enough to fill my days, and keeping it open no longer served me as an artist or business.

If I’m honest, I held on longer than I needed to out of fear. That little “just in case” can be hard to let go of.

Closing it was me finally trusting what I had already built.

I wanted to share this for those of you starting out, or somewhere in the middle of figuring out your business. There are so many chapters ahead that you can’t see yet. Keep checking in with yourself as you grow. Make room for the work you love and the things that serve you. You’re allowed to be grateful for something and still be ready to release it.

I’m really proud of this chapter, and just as proud to move forward.

And yes, the pressed floral place cards are still available by request. I’ll always have a soft spot for them. 🌸 by @vivelaplume.studio

These Tiffany & Co. flutes are beautiful on their own, and hand engraving makes them an especially personal gift. Such a lovely way to celebrate a wedding, an anniversary, or the start of something wonderful.

Beauty, bubbles, and details made personal. ✨

It was a pleasure to join Erica’s Table of 20 for Beauty & Bubbles at Nordstrom, meet the lovely PAT McGRATH LABS team, and personalize compacts and lip glosses for guests.

I loved Erica’s intention for the gathering: creating a space where every guest felt seen, connected, and inspired. A personal detail to take home felt like such a fitting extension of that.

We stayed so busy personalizing in the private suite that I didn’t get a chance to photograph my setup or all the finished pieces—but we had a blast!

Thank you, @ericad101010 and @tableof20 for inviting Vive La Plume Studio to be part of such a thoughtful celebration. 🥂 by @vivelaplume.studio

The concept for this gifting experience started with one word: electric. ⚡️

For the Porsche Cayenne EV launch, the original plan centered on thermal cups. I suggested adding Porsche rechargeable hand lamps with leather pouches—a fitting nod to the theme, with room for a personal touch.

The cups were color-matched to Porsche’s automotive paint options, but sample testing showed their coating didn’t engrave with the clean finish I wanted for guests. Working with the client, we kept the cups in their original finish and offered silver hot foil personalization on the lamp pouches instead.

The result was The Electric Edit: a gifting station where guests could choose their favorite, watch their pouch being personalized, and leave with a gift packaged just for them.

I designed the supporting details, too, including personalization forms that folded into gift tags for the bags. A small detail that helped us keep gifts organized and ready to hand to their recipients.

This is one of my favorite parts of my work: taking a client’s initial idea and shaping it into an experience tailored to their brand and guests, from the first samples to the final presentation.

A special thank-you to Chelsea of @seastrokescalligraphy, a wonderful calligrapher and live-event artist who joined me as my assistant for the morning. She anticipated what was needed so naturally that I genuinely felt like she was reading my mind. So grateful to have had her beside me for the event!

Everything came together beautifully, and we sent guests home with more than 60 gifts in just under two hours, including silver-foiled hand lamps and Porsche thermal cups all wrapped in pretty packaging.

Thank you, @porschenorthhouston & @indigoautogroup for trusting me to bring this experience together. It was a pleasure to be part of the launch alongside so many talented Houston vendors including florals by @danas.touch , delicious coffee by my friends @tenfoldcoffee & charcuterie spread by @montrosecheeseandwine 🫶 by @vivelaplume.studio

A little design, some pretty paper, and a very quick turnaround. ✨

These custom menus went from design to dinner in just 24 hours for a special Saks Fifth Avenue evening last week.

With @seastrokes creating the handwritten place cards, I designed the menus to complement her lettering, then printed and hand-cut each one here in the studio.

You’ll usually find me with a pen or engraving tool in hand, but tailored menu design and printed paper pieces have a place here, too. I was so happy to have room in the schedule to help bring this table together. 🤍

Also, thank you to @thebeauxarts for the referral! 🤍

A fair assessment. ✒️

It’s been almost 10 years since I took my first calligraphy class, and I’m still endlessly curious—about techniques (old & new), the right tools, the smallest details, and all the ways a handwritten piece can feel truly personal.

Obsession may be the word for it…and I love it. 🤍 by @vivelaplume.studio

Let’s wrap this whirlwind project before it heads out the studio door. ✨

Twenty custom menus, designed, printed, and hand-cut in less than 24 hours for a special dinner hosted by Saks Fifth Avenue.

After the pace of a quick-turnaround project, I find wrapping the finished work surprisingly relaxing. When time allows, I like to take an extra fifteen minutes to slow down and make the delivery feel considered. These menus were carefully packaged for their journey, then wrapped to resemble an envelope and finished with ribbon and a wax seal.

The project may have come together quickly, but it didn’t have to leave the studio feeling rushed. 🤍

Thank you so much to Chelsea @seastrokes for inviting me to be a part of the project, and to Sarah @thebeauxarts for the referral. Love this community 💕 by @vivelaplume.studio
