Introducing @kitty.r.mason

I am primarily a painter, but work in a variety of mediums including ink, 3D, and digital art. I take inspiration from film, music and literature as well as the people and objects in my life.

I am particularly interested in the relationship between the subject and viewer and the creation of narrative surrounding the piece. I also enjoy experimenting with composition and subject styling during my reference gathering process.

I am studying Fine Art at Newcastle university but continue to sell my work back home in Sussex.

I am so incredibly grateful to have my work surrounded by the amazing artists at Lief Collective. by @vivienne.ridley

Re-introducing @vivienne.ridley

Vivienne is often working at Lief on Thursday afternoons making the space look even more beautiful.

Thursday afternoons are great opportunity to ask any questions about Viv’s work and discuss bespoke, custom projects. Viv loves breathing new life into heirlooms, giving treasured pieces a beautiful new chapter while preserving the memories they hold. ✨

Here are so photos of her recent work.

“I am an avid believer and supporter in the resurgence of quality design and production here in the UK and keen to add to the numbers of designers with integrity and purpose with a healthy nod to recycling.

My latest work embodies some of my core passions and interests, I am a magpie, an admirer of both old and new design and never happier when these sit in happy unison. I meticulously source trinkets from the past, buttons, jewellery components, a single earring or cufflink, they are all treasure to me. I then begin to recreate their purpose and contemporise them, considering colour scale and composition.

I often wonder where the pieces originated, who wore them and what adventures they have been on but the real joy is recreating them into something that someone will love again and that new histories begin to add to the pieces.

I never tire of searching for new pieces to rework, the thrill of the junk shop chase, auctions, car boot sales and antique shop trawling are very much a happy pursuit… and then the challenge back at the workbench to create the right balance between old and new.”

❤️ by @vivienne.ridley

A story of past and present, a very beautiful starting point of an heirloom gold chain and a two charms. I worked with @leilamasonn mum to bring together other vintage pieces that have unique meaning, sentiment & love for her graduation present.
For custom made pieces that are truly unique appointments are available at my studio by the sea in Hove :) by @vivienne.ridley
