A glimpse of @juliebabyfilm that we filmed in Austin.JULIE BABY is fundamentally about the passing on of shame from one woman to another. All too often, this hand-off occurs within our most intimate relationships, the family, and starts at a young age. Though love is there, carelessness and hurt can be too. JULIE BABY explores all of this as 7-year-old Julie goes from being called a baby to a whore in the span of an afternoon. Not one to be told anything, Julie investigates these words for herself. In doing so, she discovers not only the power of self-identification but also her ability to stand up for others facing bullying.It was a wonderful journey full of discoveries, and such a joy to play with @riley.me.cooper & @bettyjo_austin and be directed by @emilyagrooms . These photos almost never happened.I was finishing another job in New York when everything started falling apart. By the time I arrived at the airport, check-in for my red-eye flight to Paris had just closed. And this wasn’t just another shoot I could reschedule - I was supposed to land in Paris and go straight to Paolo Roversi’s studio.Shooting with @roversi again after couple of years felt like dream. Missing that flight felt like watching something enormous disappear right in front of my eyes.I remember standing at the counter completely panicked, asking if there was any way to get on another flight. They told me there were no seats left. Business class was fully booked (yes, those were the golden days when clients still paid for business usually).And I remember crying. Actually crying at the airport, saying I was willing to fly in cargo if that’s what it took to get to Paris by morning.After that, my memory becomes strangely blurry - maybe because of the stress, maybe because it was 16 years ago. Somehow, though, I made it. I landed in Paris exhausted, a driver picked me up at Charles de Gaulle, my luggage went separately in another car, and I was taken straight to the studio by motorbike.And then everything suddenly became quiet.No complicated transformation. No dramatic hair or makeup. They barely touched me at all - just slight changes of clothes, small adjustments to the hair, nothing more. Paolo didn’t need noise around the image.What I remember most is the atmosphere inside that studio. It felt almost sacred. The giant camera standing there like a museum piece. The silence. The patience. And Paolo himself - gentle, calm, caring - asking me to stay completely still so the camera could capture the moment properly, because he was shooting with a long exposure.To this day, these images still feel less like photographs to me and more like moments suspended in time. by @vladaroslyakova

There are moments that feel like a full circle 🤍On April 18, I had the honor of being a reader for Total Dictation in New York, at @st.nicholas.nyc - aplace that has quietly become my second home.For those who may not know, @totaldict.ru is a global educational event that has been bringing people together for over 20 years. Participants gather around the world to write a диктант (a Russian-language dictation), testing their literacy while celebrating the beauty, depth, and culture of the Russian language. It’s not just about grammar - it’s about connection, identity, and love for language.This wasn’t my first time. Back in 2019, I was invited to be a reader as well. At that time, I had only just started coming to St. Nicholas Cathedral… it still felt new, unfamiliar - and being trusted with this role felt like a gift, almost like a leap of faith.This time felt different.Reading the text there again, years later, in a place that now feels like home… it felt especially meaningful, and something I’m truly grateful to be part of.The dictation took place across three locations in New York organizedby @rus_usa_org - and I’m grateful I got to be part of one of them.And of course, I’m rooting for everyone who participated - may you all get the highest scores ✨#TotalDictation #ТотальныйДиктант #RussianLanguage #NYCEvents #LanguageAndCulture by @vladaroslyakova
