These may seem like normal, irritating things men do on the regular. Things we learn to live with. They're not cool, but they don't always come across as violent. But they all stem from refusing to hear women, from blocking empathy towards women, and from objectifying women as lesser than, manipulable, and existing for their pleasure.

We are not an entire gender to be dismissed because we're "too sensitive" for your own comfort. We aren't here to entertain you and to mother you whilst you "heal your trauma wounds" from your previous relationship fuckups. We aren't here to provide comfort whilst you wreck our nervous system because of how much of a mess you are. We aren't here to shut up and agree with your life decisions when they are actively hurting us. We aren't here to smile and nod. We aren't an interchangeable placeholder in your life. We don't solely exist to make you feel good about yourself. And we're certainly not here for your sexual enjoyment and reproductive goals above all.

We are entire people, with entire agency, and entire opinions, and entire feelings, and entire needs.

The really fucked up irony of it all is that if you acknowledged all of that, relationships would actually be way more enjoyable for you, just as much as they would be for us.

I dream of the day the bear won't be as much of an obvious choice.
