Riittävän suuri matto makuuhuoneessa luo ylellistä ilmettä, vähän niin kuin hotellihuonetunnelmaa. Matto voi hyvin mennä reilusti vuoteen alle. Esimerkiksi 200×300 cm kokoinen matto soveltuu hyvin 160/180×200 cm kokoisen vuoteen alle. Sijoita matto jättämällä lattiatilaa yöpöydille, vuoteen reunoilla ja päädyssä matto tulee esiin 60-70 cm.

Voit sijoittaa myös kaksi erillistä mattoa vuoteen molemmille reunoille. Valitse siinäkin tapauksessa riittävän suuri matto, jonka päällä on mukava astella vuoteesta noustua.

Yhä useampi valitsee makuuhuoneeseen kokolattiamaton. Laadukas nukkapinta sitoo huonepölyä, jolloin pölyä ei leijaile yhtä paljon huoneilmassa. Lisäksi kokolattiamatto pehmentää huoneen äänimaailmaa rauhoittaen tilan nukkumiselle ja lepäämiselle.

A sufficiently large rug in the bedroom creates a luxurious feel, reminiscent of a hotel room. The rug can extend well underneath the bed. For example, a 200 × 300 cm rug is an excellent choice for a 160/180 × 200 cm bed. Position the rug so that there is floor space left for the bedside tables, while the rug extends approximately 60–70 cm beyond the sides and foot of the bed.

Another option is to place two separate rugs, one on each side of the bed. In this case as well, choose rugs that are large enough to provide a comfortable, soft surface to step onto when getting out of bed.

More and more people are choosing wall-to-wall carpeting for their bedrooms. A high-quality pile carpet helps trap dust, reducing the amount of dust circulating in the air. It also softens the acoustics of the room, creating a calmer, more relaxing atmosphere for sleep and rest.

For the bedroom, choose soft pile rugs or warm, wool-woven rugs to create a comfortable and inviting space.

Ruokailutilassa ruokapöydän tuolien tulisi pysyä matolla myös silloin, kun tuolit on vedetty ulos. Näin ruokailuhetkestä tulee miellyttävä ja rauhallinen. Maton tulisi siis ulottua noin 60 cm pöydän reunojen yli. Esim. 100 cm leveä ruokapöytä vaatii noin 220 cm leveän maton. Pyöreälle pöydälle pätee sama sääntö. Jos pöydän halkaisija on 120 cm, maton tulisi olla halkaisijaltaan 240 cm.

Valitse ruokapöydän alle helppohoitoinen ja kestävä materiaali. Esimerkiksi tiivispintainen villa-paperinarumatto on hyvä valinta.

In the dining area, the dining chairs should remain on the rug even when they are pulled out from the table. This creates a more comfortable and harmonious dining experience. As a rule of thumb, the rug should extend approximately 60 cm (24") beyond the edges of the table. For example, a dining table that is 100 cm (39") wide requires a rug that is about 220 cm (87") wide. The same guideline applies to round tables: if the table has a diameter of 120 cm (47"), the rug should have a diameter of approximately 240 cm (94").

Choose a durable, easy-care material for a dining room rug. A tightly woven wool and paper yarn rug, for example, is an excellent choice.

Matto voi tehdä ihmeitä huoneelle – mutta väärän kokoinen matto voi pilata koko sisustuksen. Tässä muutama nyrkkisääntö maton oikean koon valintaan:
📌Olohuoneessa maton tulisi olla vähintään sohvan levyinen. Ihanteellisesti sohvan etujalat asettuvat maton päälle.
📌Ruokailutilassa maton pitäisi ulottua vähintään 60 cm pöydän reunan yli, jotta tuolin jalat pysyvät matolla myös pöydässä istuttaessa.
