I went to an event at my UK publisher on Friday and realised that in a week it will be three years since I received their offer, and my author journey began. It all started in April 2023 with the Comedy Women in Print Prize @cwipprize spearheaded by the formidable @helenlederer which made everything possible. So here are a few of my favourite moments since then. 💕

I’m so grateful to the brilliant teams @bantambooksuk and @poisonedpenpress for all the amazing work they have done for #deathandotheroccupationalhazards and are already doing for Book Two. Very excited for the coming months! taken in London, United Kingdom by @vmdapunt

A week at the Fringe, saw 19 shows which apparently makes me a lightweight. Feeling very inspired by all the wonderful, bonkers and hugely imaginative performances and writing. Special shout out to @elflyons who made me both laugh and cry with her, @lildavidelms who created amazing theatre out of (literally) nothing, @maxfulham who is one of the funniest comedians I’ve seen (your grandfather would be so proud 💕!) and to @garrythestarr - I will never be able to look at Brideshead Revisited the same way again. So many more who were just incredible, I’ve had the best week. Huge thanks also to @toppingsedin @blackwelledin @waterstones_edi who all had my book, and to the lovely American lady who bought it at Toppings when she saw me sign it 🫶🥰. taken in Edinburgh, United Kingdom by @vmdapunt

First few days at Edinburgh Fringe, and I’m in awe of all the incredible talent. Highlights so far include The Singer - so creative and different, The Plot - what outstanding acting, and Stamptown - mad, wild and epic 🤩. taken in Edinburgh, United Kingdom by @vmdapunt

The beautiful and historic Highgate Cemetery is the setting of one of my favourite scenes in Book Two. A cat is key to that scene, and while we walked, one appeared out of nowhere and came to say hello (pictured, of course). Anyone who reads the book will understand why that felt quite magical. ✨🐾💕

Special thanks to the lovely @mk_oliver_writer for showing me around and patiently debating scene logistics with me! taken in Highgate by @vmdapunt

The best weekend @capitalcrime1 ✨! Loved being on a panel with @mrdavidfennell @jdbrinkworth and @drferguscraig, had a wonderful time with my editor & agent, caught up with author friends and chatted to so many lovely readers 💕.

Thanks so much to @lizziecurle and @davidhheadley for a brilliant festival.

Editing Book Two and so excited to be back in this world 💫. Here are some things I’ve researched. The dog had strong views on one of them…
