That’s Saraswati, a second #kankrej heifer added to the farm . She has a descent kankrej trait , the big wide forehead and her horns growing wide apart . She’s quite a wel built for a two year old. A little nosey, she shys away from strangers when confronted ! Every heifer has her own mood. #kankrejcow #farmlife

PS : she’s quite skinny and to the bones cause generally in the herds in North, a cow is taken care only when she starts milking , so no special care had been given. Considering she’s arrived to our farm, let’s see her progress! taken in Tirukalikundram, Tamil Nadu, India by @vn.sr_farms

Sprouts of paddy. So this year, on a completely organic soil bed we’ve sown paddy AKA nellu. Ten days from now, they’ll be transported to the bigger field , as they grow ,shooting their way up to the sun for the harvest during janurary . #organic #vermibed #organicpaddy #enivromentconsious #NOTOCHEMICALFERTILISERS #earthconsious #forthefuturegenerations #organicfarming taken in Tirukalikundram, Tamil Nadu, India by @vn.sr_farms

Food food and more food! Do you know goats have four different parts of a stomach unlike ours ? They eat through the day and regurgitate and slowly eat them back through the night #goatherd #thalcherry #boergoat taken in Tirukalikundram, Tamil Nadu, India by @vn.sr_farms

“Worms have played a more important part in the history of the world than humans would at first suppose.”
— Charles Darwin.

When you first talk about organic farming , These earthworms have a Major role. Without them recycling the organic waste, no organic farming starts. #vermicompostpits #organic #babysteps by @vn.sr_farms

Ten days of follow up of my bee box at home . . . BOX 1 : the colony has started to adapt and build new colonies .. can you see long bees at work? BOX 2- the bees have escaped , inspite of keeping sugar water to them . Sometimes , a colony can’t just adapt to a new place .. VIDEO 3 - the escapes colony has gone up over the nearby tree an built their nest !!! by @vn.sr_farms

Welcome home, #Rani ! She’s a 15 month old heifer of the #kankrej breed, which is an indigenous , desi breed of Kutch and Rajasthan. #desicow #locallygrown #supportlocal #indianbeauty . . PS : she’s not skinny , generally the indigenous breed are meant to look slimmer and trimmer .. but hey , she’s just reached Chennai from Gujarat a couple of days ago.. so considering being in my farm from now.. won’t you expect her to look every bit of me 😂😃 don’t forget to wish her luck! taken in Tirukalikundram, Tamil Nadu, India by @vn.sr_farms
