Els vells feixistes francesos tornen a estar junts.

El 30 de març de 1958, amb 53 anys, el coreògraf Serge Lifar es va enfrontar a l’empresari George de Cuevas en un duel a Blaru, França. La querella va ser el resultat d’un ‘desacord artístic’ durant el qual Lifar va ser bufetejat per Cuevas en públic. Després de set minuts, el duel va acabar amb Cuevas esquinçant l’avantbraç de Lifar.

A través de la repetició i la re-escenificació del duel, es realitza un striptease històric de la figura del coreògraf i les seves qualitats mitològiques per suggerir que la veritat apareix a través de la multiplicitat i la comèdia.

The old French fascists have been reunited.

On the 30th of March 1958, at age 53, choreographer Serge Lifar faced off against the 73-year-old impresario George de Cuevas in a duel at Blaru, France. The fight was the result of an ‘artistic disagreement’ during which Lifar was slapped in public by Cuevas. The duel ended in the seventh minute after Cueva scratched Lifar’s forearm.

Through repetition and restaging of the duel, a historical striptease of the choreographer’s figure is performed to question how institutional discourse is built and to suggest that truth appears through multiplicity and comedy.
