“Log kya kahenge?” 😎 Even a portrait can have a question of its own. When Aarna, one of our young artists saw Jamini Roy’s women in traditional sarees and ghunghat, this was the feeling the artworks sparked in her mind. She brought it into her composition—with sunglasses and that handwritten question! One artist inspired this lesson. Nine different portraits emerged. 🎨 Our students, aged 10–14, explored simplified, stylised portrait drawing, flat colour with poster paints and contrasting colour combinations. Then they made personal choices: purple hair, a lightning motif, a flower on a shirt… Learning to observe an artist’s work—and finding room for their own voice. Swipe with your child: which detail catches their eye? What would they add to their own portrait? DM Voice in Visuals for the class details. #OnlineArtClasses #OnlineArtClassesForKids #JaminiRoyInspired #KidsArt #voiceinvisuals by @voiceinvisuals
A square flower? Why not? 🌼 Can you and your child spot the different shapes in these gardens? In our online art classes for children, we started by drawing flowers and leaves using different shapes. Then we added Zentangle doodles inside the flowers, repeating different kinds of lines to create patterns and bring each garden together. Our learning focus: 🌿 Using shapes to draw flowers and foliage. 〰️ Creating patterns with different types of lines. Look for zigzags, waves, spirals and crossing lines as you swipe. Which flower would your child like to invent? Interested in online art classes for your child? Super psyched to show my work in Kolkata after 4 years — sharing the space with two brilliant artists. Heartfelt thanks to Galerie 88 for making this happen. If you’re in Kolkata between June 9–30, please drop by . I’ll be in the city until the 15th and would love to catch up over coffee ☕ with fellow artists and friends. DM me if you would like to hang. See you there! #kolkataart #artbywomen #womenartists #figurativeart #contemporaryart #artshow #meettheartist #artcommunity by @voiceinvisuals
