KNOW BEFORE YOU VOTE. The 2026 election is coming up on November 3, and VOTE is making it easier to learn more about the candidates on your ballot. We sent candidate surveys to every single candidate across Louisiana and invited candidates to sit down with us for interviews. These conversations give voters an opportunity to hear directly from candidates and learn where they stand on issues that impact our communities. From Statewide races like the Senate and Public Service Commission, to local races in New Orleans and Baton Rouge you can read candidate survey responses and watch interviews on our website and YouTube channel. Get informed. Ask questions. Know your ballot. 🔗 Visit the link in our bio to explore VOTE’s 2026 candidate surveys and interviews. by @voiceoftheexperienced

Tomorrow is the LAST DAY to cast your ballot to VOTE! Say you wanted change in your community, well now it’s the opportunity to change it!🔥 Recognition Monday: History isn’t just something we read in books, it’s built by those who step up to serve. My grandfather Kenneth M. Carter broke barriers as the first Black property tax assessor in Louisiana history. As a prominent attorney, political leader, and president of Black Organization for Leadership Development (BOLD), he dedicated his life to empowering local communities and organizing civic action. Leaders like Kenneth M. Carter showed us that real representation starts when we make our voices heard at the ballot box. Every local election, every measure, and every vote determines who represents our communities. Honor his legacy and what he stood for. Go out and vote for your right!🔥🗳️ #fyp #vote #communityleader #blackexcellence #mscm2400 by @voiceoftheexperienced
If there’s a long line on Election Day, STAY IN LINE.  After spending 20 years in prison, Checo knows firsthand that the right to VOTE is something never to take for granted. From watching his father and stepfather fight for that right, to the legacy of Bloody Sunday and generations of freedom fighters, let this is a reminder that our access to the ballot was and remains a long fight. That being said, the least we can do is wait in a long line. The right to VOTE is more than a privilege. It’s our power. REMINDER: Election Day is TUESDAY! Polls are open from 6AM- 8PM. #ourvoicesourpower #getoutthevote by @voiceoftheexperienced
EVERYONE. WE NEED EVERYONE. EVERYWHERE. ALL ALLIES. BORDER PATROL IS RECRUITING DURING THE ELECTION (NOV. 2-4) AT OUR PUBLIC LIBRARY! Can you make this people-powered push back, sit in, protes? More information is linked to the QR code to the action network, including days and times folks should / need to show to fill the space. We need everyone to just come use the library and surrounding facilities ALL day. Like every seat in every room. Every parking spot. On the block. Lets ramp up our patron-use statistics! All of us there with friends catching up on radical book club, with our kiddos in kids or teens rooms, doing remote work or studying, reserving a room to host an activity, using the Makerspace equipment to build a better world and get cool creative, making protest art, relaxing on the roof top and in the botanical gardens. All 300 - 500 of us. At least. Every day they are scheduled to recruit there. It is our library, our right to use it. We pay for it. It will be make it hard for them to recruit if there is no room, no parking, no seat, no space, for them or hate. So . . . Share this people-powered action widely. Invite friends. Make study or reading for fun date with yourself. But make the time to show up and sit in for your neighbor. Share this AND show up! There are about 300 - 400 parking spaces at the Main Library so we need at least that many folks each day. Do we got this Baton Rouge? Do we got this Louisiana? LET'S ICE THEM OUT. If you can host an activity, RESERVE A ROOM with your library card! No permissions needed from anyone to participate. Do what YOU can do to help pack the stacks. ORGANIZE. And, everyone promote everything people plan (activities, skillshares, spoken word writing workshops, quilting & knitting corners with conversation). . . Bring snakcs to share. But lets get folks there! And lets stay there, until they leave. Use the QR code to the form to contact community members on the other end (the Good Trouble Coalition) to coordinate, but who are really just hoping people autonomously organize for the cause, and we all show up! by @voiceoftheexperienced
