October 21 | National Poets Day in the Dominican Republic

Today, we honor Salomé Ureña de Henríquez (1850–1897), one of the most significant figures in Dominican literature and a pioneer of women’s education in the Dominican Republic.

A celebrated poet whose work gave voice to national identity, freedom, and hope, she also founded the Instituto de Señoritas in 1881, one of the first institutions in the country dedicated to the advanced education of women. Through poetry and education, she helped shape the intellectual and cultural future of her nation.

Her legacy reminds us that words can do more than express an era: they can help transform it.

From the Dominican Republic to the world, we celebrate the voices that keep poetry alive.

A new place!🥹🫶
We have the opportunity to create something beautiful in a historic monument that used to be a cinema, right in the heart of Amsterdam.

Together with @wowas_wunderkammer and @pum62.nl , we’re going to see what we can make of this place for the time we have and bring vintage design, antique treasures, music, creativity & community together.

And UNPLUGGED will be the first thing on the program🫶

Recordar es volver a vivir…

Volver a esa primera idea,
