Happy World Ballet Day to all the souls who find magic in the process, the creations, the stillness, the slow moments, the excitement, and even the doubts.
In the silent moments and the joyful ones. In the trust, the laughter, the beautiful chaos, the daily rituals, the challenges, the rewards, and the COMMUNITY.
In the feelings that words cannot describe. In the moments that take your breath away. In the little things that become unforgettable memories. In everything that dance gives us, teaches us, and asks of us.

Because it’s not just about the dance itself. It’s about the journey, the people, the moments, and all the ways dance shapes who we are. It LIVES in us, CHANGE us, CONNECT us, and becomes part of who we are.

Happy World Ballet Day from Voices of Arts Central🤍🩰✨

Voices of Arts Central @voicesofartscentral is proud to be present at the 2026 Greater Houston Arts Forum and Texas for the Arts Summit!

As a performing artist for more than 25 years, I have experienced the transformative power of the arts in countless ways. Yet, being surrounded by so many passionate advocates, artists, arts leaders, patrons, friends, producers, CEOs, and others gave me a whole different perspective.
It is an inspiring day of listening, learning, connecting, and gaining a deeper understanding of the shared vision, challenges, and opportunities shaping the future of the arts in Houston and across the great state of Texas.

The conversation continues, and I am excited to be part of it ! Thank you @hobbycenterhou @houstonartsalliance @houstonendowment @houartsinaction , Texas of the Arts Foundation. ✨ by @voicesofartscentral

A beautiful, tiny stage, but a room filled with a giant community of hope, representation, joy, and celebration. 🇻🇪🇨🇺🇨🇴🇲🇽🇵🇷❤️ Thank you, Principal Ayasha Greene and all the staff of the @grissomes for welcoming us with such genuine love and support.

And listen closely to those little gasps, giggles, and smiles. 🥹✨ Those are the moments that say everything. At the end, one little one even turned to their dad and said, “I don’t want to do football ⚽… I want to dance.”

And that’s why representation matters. Sometimes all it takes is seeing something new, seeing someone who inspires you, to discover a possibility you didn’t know existed.

Maybe it’s more than a performance. Maybe it’s a child seeing a new dream for the very first time. ✨ Thank you @giancarlo_perez_dancer @corinaguevara6 and @marianattyg for dreaming with me! #supportoutreachprograms #hispanicheritagemonth #losbuenossomosmas by @voicesofartscentral

Vicente Nebrada’s legacy lives on through every artist he inspired. ✨ Thanks to the Nebrada Foundation and our incredible friends and supporters, this evening was possible! Special thanks to @yanispikieris and Zane Wilson for your support. @houstonartsalliance @dancesource @houstonballetacademy

Through Alana’s remarkable photographs, the essence of his work comes alive once again, capturing the spirit, emotion, and timeless artistry that defined his choreography.

Now more than ever, let us continue to celebrate and honor Vicente Nebrada’s enduring legacy, ensuring that his vision, his artistry, and his cultural heritage continue to inspire future generations. 🇻🇪 by @voicesofartscentral

One of the most meaningful moments in the Forever Nebrada’s journey has been the privilege of working hand in hand with the @houstonballetacademy and the Nebrada Foundation. Having Zane Wilson and @yanispikieris working directly with the dancers, two extraordinary artists who dedicated decades of their careers to working alongside Vicente Nebrada and who originated many of his iconic ballets, was truly unforgettable. They didn’t simply teach steps; they shared the soul of the work. Every rehearsal became an opportunity to pass on the artistry, the intention, and the profound legacy that only those who created these masterpieces with Nebrada himself could offer. For every dancer and artist in the room, it was an extraordinary gift to experience his choreography through those who knew it best.

And this collaboration has already become something even greater. We are deeply honored to announce that Our Waltzes, one of the crown jewels of Vicente Nebrada’s repertoire, will become part of the Houston Ballet Academy’s repertoire in the coming years. It is amazing to express what this means, not only for the Nebrada Foundation, but for everyone who believes in preserving and celebrating Vicente Nebrada’s artistic vision.

This milestone would not have been possible without the trust, generosity, and commitment of the Houston Ballet Academy, Stanton Welch, Julie Kent, and Jennifer Sommers. Their belief in this legacy ensures that a new generation of dancers will not simply perform these works, they will inherit a language, a history, and an artistic tradition that has shaped ballet across generations.

Today, we celebrate more than a collaboration. Vicente Nebrada’s legacy is not only alive, it continues to grow, to evolve, and to find new homes in the hearts and bodies of the dancers who will carry it into the future. ✨❤️ Beautiful photos courtesy of Tim Thompson @aprilthompsonpiano by @voicesofartscentral
