Portraits of Oldřich Uttendorfský for @jtbanka_art
It was a profound privilege to capture a diplomat, physician, and collector whose lifetime project—a breathtaking cabinet of curiosities spanning more than six decades—explores the delicate cycle of life.
Fun fact: this was my first photoshoot since becoming a father. With my head firmly stuck in the clouds, it’s a wonder anything came into focus. Working with a figure of such caliber is humbling, half the time you just want to stop shooting and get lost in his endless stories. #phaseone by @vojtechveskrna

Whenever I drove home to Moravia to visit my family, I was always greeted along the way by the visuals of Hodinářství Bechyně. I have to admit that, despite my love for printed photography, billboards never really caught my eye—mostly because of their content. But Hodinářství Bechyně’s ads were always beautiful and visually clean, stripped of any unnecessary clutter. I used to tell myself that if there was one project I’d genuinely love to do, it would be shooting a campaign for them.

Fast forward a few years, and that thought has become a reality. I’m incredibly happy to have created something I’m truly proud of, and I hope it brings a bit of visual joy to other highway pilots driving through Prague or wherever the road takes them. Thanks to Hodinářství Bechyně for the opportunity.

Doplňují je díla Josefa Bolfa, Jakuba Špaňhela, Moniky Martykánové, Domiky Petrálové, Elis Monsport, Lukáše Nováka, Iry Svobodové, Kateřiny Šťastné, Matouše Háši, Pavlíny Kvity a Jakuba Matušky.

Instalaci najdete v Jízdárně Pražského hradu do neděle 11.10.

I’ve always had a complex relationship with advertising. Too often, it feels superficial, lacking the self-deprecating humor and wit you see in other markets. But when done right, it offers a space for genuine creative realization. I am fortunate to collaborate with people who actively seek out naturalness and authenticity in their visual communication. It might sound paradoxical in the ad world, but grounding a campaign in reality works infinitely better than relying on ubiquitous, empty smiles.

For me, it always comes back to the craft. It’s about a precise command of technique, a focused atmosphere on set, and knowing exactly how to translate a client’s vision into an authentic image. In an industry increasingly leaning toward AI, keeping commercial photography human and technically grounded is more important than ever. Thanks to the agencies (here @ad_kolektiv )who understand this and trust me with these opportunities.

Minotti Praha × Dechem × Vojtěch Veškrna

For my second project with @minotti_praha , I teamed up with studio @dechemstudio . I didn’t want to just shoot standard decorative interior photos of their blown glass and Minotti’s new Orion collection. Instead, I wanted to treat the photographs almost like sculptures.
Inspired by Dechem’s technique of layering glass, I experimented with stacking and multiplying forms. The goal was to transform these pieces of furniture and glass into dense, heavy artifacts—making them feel more like carved stone monoliths than transparent objects. It’s all about light, shadow, and pure mass.
This whole series was born from spontaneous experimentation and the joy of collaboration with @janahajek_ 🤍

Přijďte objevit novou kolekci Minotti 2026 do našeho showroomu Minotti Praha.
