This past Sunday, the VolunteerTogether Squad had the absolute honor of preparing brunch for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Los Angeles. 💛 @rmhcsc @
The Los Angeles location is made up of two large houses that can serve anywhere from 150–300 families at a time — significantly larger than the New Jersey house where I host most of our events throughout the year. Knowing the size of this location, I was excited but also nervous about pulling this off on the West Coast.

A few weeks ago, I called one of our VolunteerTogether board members and my best friend, @marcel_logan , and shared my concern about whether we’d have enough volunteers. His response was simple:
“Don’t cancel it. We’ll figure it out.”
And every few days after that, he’d call me and say, “I got another volunteer.”

By Sunday, we had 16 volunteers show up ready to serve, and together we created a full brunch spread for the families. This is exactly what we mean when we say More People ➡️ More Impact.

The Ronald McDonald House gives families a home away from home while their children are receiving medical care, and it’s an honor to now serve families through this mission on both the East Coast and the West Coast.

A huge thank-you to our angel sponsor, Charlotte, whose generous donation played a major role in making this brunch possible.

WEEK 1 UPDATE! 💗🩸

Last week we officially launched the Fifth Annual Menstrual Product Drive hosted by Volunteer Together — and WOW… thank you!

In just a few days, we’ve already received over 60 period products.

A BIG shoutout to one of our biggest donors this week, @_niamhkavanagh_

We’re also so excited to share that we’ve officially teamed up with @luxestylesmedia thanks to the wonderful @daniellemdigalbo who will now be collecting period products at their salon all Nov/Dec! This collaboration means even more support for our community, and we’re so grateful.

Every single donation from this drive goes directly to schools, organizations, and people in need of menstrual products. This is our fifth year doing this, and our mission remains the same:
Everyone deserves access to the period products they need.

There are so many ways to get involved — donating, sharing this post, spreading the word, collecting within your workplace or salon, or simply using your voice to help us reach our goal. 💛

💌 The 5th Annual Menstrual Product Drive is officially here!
Together, we’re on a mission to make period products accessible to everyone who needs them. For the next eight weeks, we’ll rally as a community to collect over 1,000 products for schools, organizations, and individuals in need — proving once again that More People ➡ More Impact.

This initiative began after I watched the Oscar-winning short film Period. End of Sentence. (2018). The film inspired me to create The Period Project, where I traveled to Vrindavan, India, bringing over 1,200 period products to a local school that didn’t have access. I taught students about menstruation and distributed supplies to those who needed them most.

When I returned home, I realized that many people right here in the U.S. also struggle to access period products. That realization led me to launch the Menstrual Product Drive through my nonprofit, Volunteer Together.

Five years later, this drive continues to grow—powered by compassion, awareness, and action. Your donations, your shares, and your support truly make a difference.

✨ A BOOK that gives back ✨

This year I wrote my first children’s book, Tony Moves to Volunteer Valley — a story that carries the heart of my nonprofit, Volunteer Together. What makes this book so special is that every single dollar from sales goes directly into funding more volunteer events, creating real impact in our communities.

I’m beyond grateful (and excited!) to share that Tony Moves to Volunteer Valley is not only available on Amazon, but also was available all summer long at one of my favorite places in Wildwood, NJ — @dufferswildwoods A huge thank you to Duffer’s for giving me the chance to place this book in their store, helping more young readers (and families) discover a book that truly gives back. 💛

Last night at @dufferswildwoods , we hosted an Alex’s Lemonade Stand to raise money for childhood cancer research — and it was nothing short of special. 🍋💛

This time was different. It was my niece Giavanna’s first time truly taking the lead — using her voice, sharing Alex’s story, and proudly continuing her legacy. She showed up with heart, passion, and purpose. And right by her side? Her little sister Juliana and all their cousins, cheering her on and helping every step of the way.

Together, we raised $800 for this incredible charity — one that I’ve supported for over 20 years. Alex Scott was just 4 years old when she started her first lemonade stand to help find a cure for childhood cancer. Her legacy continues to inspire, and now I get to watch it live on through the next generation.

I’m Lisa—founder of VolunteerTogether.

What began in 2019 as a family-and-friend volunteer squad has grown into a movement of 100+ volunteers, showing up across communities to spread love, kindness, and connection.

This has always been bigger than me.
