Tohru in die Schreiberei - can a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Michelin restaurant be a hidden gem? Almost!
When you combine the best ingredients with the Japanese heritage of Tohru and combine it with the German location you get a delicious mix of craft and technique. Using the best ingredients from both Germany and Japan the team manages to seduce you and your tastebuds from the get go and your smile stays long after you leave. What an amazing experience that I can only warmly recommend! Thank you Tohru and team.#michelin #munich #foodporn #finedining #foodie by @vonbassovic

Lovely dinner in Prague at 1* @stangl_official where creativity, finesse, skill and working intensively with their producers to have great produce created a wonderful experience. For me the highlight was the eel sandwich as well as the petit four. #Prague #czech #michelin by @vonbassovic

Cooking Outside the Box!
We can all agree that thinking outside the box is a great idea, but what about cooking outside the box?
This concept I ventured to Portorož in the Slovenian part of Istria to check out.
Here 1 star @michelinguide Young Chef of the Year 2025 @filiphilip92 with 2 knives in the @thebestchefawards runs the kitchen at @cob_restaurant while his brother @mrpat7 runs the front of house, they are the fifth generation of their family owning restaurants.
The concept is simple, connect the best ingredients Istria has to offer, while breaking traditions and boundaries and while being inspired by their trips around the world.
The concept works, and you as a diner are taken on a trip around the world with inspiration from east, north, west and south all while having your own culinary passport stamped with memories.
The spring season will start in April and I’m looking forward to going back for more great food, more great wines and more time in the warm company of Filip, Patrik, their staff and their families. by @vonbassovic

Sometimes a dinner is more than just joy.
Sometimes we are more than just foodies.
Last night I had the joy of combining my passion for amazing food with doing good. At @casanova.restaurante I had the joy to support Palestine at their charity four hands dinner with Joan Roca of @cellercanroca . We went through a night full of seductive flavours including magnificent wine pairings. One of the things I’ll never forget is when Andres showed me a classroom they have on their premises recovered from the Russian aggression towards Ukraine. As Andres put it, the most international language is people having a meal together. ❤️ by @vonbassovic

I have been wanting to try @avenirrestaurant for quite some time, as I heard about them before they were @michelinguide recommended. I finally made it to the restaurant which is a passion project between Roger in the kitchen and Chesco in the dining room on Saturday.

We had their large menu which was great! It consists of a large number of lovely snacks and as everybody knows you can never have enough great snacks! The snacks were both tasty and beautifully presented. The high skill level continued through the mains and the desserts - fantastic!

A special shout out goes to the wine list, here we finally have a restaurant with references that are not just the classic Spanish wines, but they also have lots of older wine (now a bit less).

All in all, this was an amazing experience and I can warmly recommend going to Avenir. by @vonbassovic

@bodegaborras serves lovely food in a cozy atmosphere with great produce. We had the oysters with apple, the clams, palamos shrimp and their seafood rice. Lovely, solid wine list too! by @vonbassovic
