Big bro, I wanted to write this letter for you so that the world will never forget you. Your time here ended tragically, but the impact you made while you were here will live on. I’m blessed to have had the relationship I had with you for 36 years of my life. So much of who I am today is because of you. You’re the first person I looked up to. I learned how to navigate this world with respect and integrity because of you. You, Will Lumb, O, and, Will Gunz taught me what brotherhood meant. You were a big brother to so many people. You lit up every room you entered and the ability to put a smile on everyone’s face. That’s one of the things I admired most about you. Your spirit and energy will live through those who had the pleasure of knowing you. I only wish my daughter had the opportunity to grow up around you but she’ll always be Uncle T baby. Our journey to our first property flip was so long. We dealt with delays, contractor issues, financing issues, city issues… *sigh* It felt like every time we solved one thing, another popped up. Something that was supposed to take a few months stretched into a year. But we’re here now, and I can tell you: I have never been so proud.

Not just of the interior design work I did, but of how this whole process taught us to work together as a real team. We learned how to define our roles, how to structure the way we move, how to lean on our realtor, how to treat the construction crew like part of the team, how to keep steady communication with the city, and how to bring in a lawyer when needed.

Every piece mattered. Every part taught us something. And honestly, it showed me that we’re just getting started.

We’re taking a 2 unit in a historical district and turned it into a large house. We’re also working on a 6 and a 8 unit next, and that’s going to be a whole new level working with commercial properties… even more interesting, even more challenging, and even more rewarding.

We are excited. Let’s GOOOOOO!
