I’ll post more later from the trip but here’s me during ragbrai 2025 and my mom during ragbrai 1996 :) Growing up I heard my mom and grandma talk about all the fun they had on ragbrai through the years and I always knew I wanted to do it. This year I finally took enough time away from marathons to get into cycling and I am newly obsessed. I’ll for sure be back for this event in the future! by @voss_maggie

It hasn’t fully sunk in yet but I’m so proud of this race for so many reasons. I’ve dedicated myself to running for a long time. When I broke my hip in 2023 I was terrified that I’d never be able to run again. Or that, if I could run it wouldn’t be the same and I’d have to let go of so many dreams. It feels really cliche to say “I’m stronger because it happened” but it’s true ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Going to physical therapy consistently has helped me address weaknesses I didn’t even know I had. My running and lifting form has improved significantly because of this. I started going to hot yoga classes a year ago and I am obsessed. This is what finally brought me relief from the discomfort that continued months after surgery. The biggest growth has been mental. I was forced to be patient and find new sources of happiness. I feel especially blessed just to be able to run a marathon now. But to finish New York with a huge PR was so special. I’ve been trying to go sub 4 for years now. Finally pulling it off on a tough course, after everything in the past year and a half makes me feel unstoppable. I’d need a book to really go into the weeds about what went into this marathon and how much it meant to me. Big thanks to everyone who’s been there for me! I can’t tag everyone but ykwya.
