A MESSAGE FROM ROJO:

Hey Neighbors,

Last night, Arlington spoke. While the results weren’t what I had hoped for, I want to be clear: the campaign was never just about winning an election.

We made a difference in the lives of 1,995 people and thousands more outside of the district. We knocked on thousands of doors, had honest conversations, and refused to back down from a vision of a more affordable American Dream City, all under a historic multilingual student-led campaign. That, my friends, will never disappear with a vote count.

To every volunteer, donor, and neighbor who believed in this: you gave me everything. I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I’m not going anywhere. Voter turnout across Tarrant County was low, which is why I’m never going to stop registering voters and encouraging our community to vote. The work of making Arlington more affordable, more equitable, and more responsive to everyday families doesn’t stop because one race ended.

For Arlington, For All of Us

I was hoping to share with commissioners how my first time voting was at the UTA voting site. Then I remembered the speech Councilmember Deborah Peoples made a few summers ago about how power is never given, it is taken. That speech changed my life.

For that reason I rather spend the next few weeks mobilizing voters for November. It is Comissioner court meetings like the one happening Tuesday September 1, 2026 that remind me why I work so hard to make our country a more perfect union. 🇺🇸

During the past 10 years I have been given the opportunity to organize, lobby and advocate for public policy at the local, state and national level. Meeting and working with leaders like Dolores Huerta has shown me that consistent work and persistence go a long way for progress. Today we continue to see an administration and various political players that make it their personal mission to attack and insult our Latino / Indigenous / Hispanic community. While they continue to benefit from our work, culture, taxes and even voters.

Access to the ballot is not even a question when the outcome is advantageous to your party (and let’s be honest, your pocket) if we are truly committed to the American experiment of “Justice & Liberty for All” then let this November historic election 🗳️ not only turn tables, but hopefully turn people’s minds. It is time to expand access to voting and get Tarrant county ok the right track, claro que si se puede. by @vote4rojo

5 canvassing turfs done for the weekend. 3 of them in Arlington 🫶🏾💙🧡 taking Monday and Tuesday off but starting back on Wednesday if anyone wants to join me. We re going back to south west Arlington and starting with Viridian!

Arlington early voting for the District 8 at large runoff begins June 1st / Election Day June 13.

If you want to join me for a 2 hour block walk this week here is my schedule:
- Sunday May 31st stating from High Oak Park at 2 pm
- June 1&2 district 1 starting at Viridian at 5pm
- June 3&4 district 2 starting at El Arroyo (woho margaritas after) at 5pm
- June 5&6 district 3 starting at Vandergriff park at 5pm
- June 7&8 district 4 starting at Tanstaafl pub (beer is on me after) at 5pm
- June 9&10 district 5 starting at Arwa Yemeni Coffee at 5pm

Well we just did a thing, by far one of the hardest things I have ever done…. Running for Arlington city council ♥️ but guess what? We still have a run-off election coming up (voting starts June1st) for district 8. Cheers!

Bueno, acabamos de hacer algo… sin duda una de las cosas más difíciles que he hecho en mi vida: postularme para el Concejo Municipal de Arlington ♥️ Pero ¿adivinen qué? ¡Todavía tenemos una elección de segunda vuelta en camino para el Distrito 8! (La votación comienza el 1 de junio). ¡Salud!

Vậy là chúng ta vừa làm được một điều… có lẽ là một trong những điều khó khăn nhất mà tôi từng làm trong đời: tranh cử vào Hội đồng Thành phố Arlington ♥️ Nhưng đoán xem?
