What a fun night supporting the Gracie Mansion Conservancy! I was honored to show off a local
small business by wearing a kurta crafted by @rahulny on 74th street in Jackson Heights! Congrats to Skye @thepoliticalpersonality_, my elected colleagues, and everyone who made this night a celebration and success for this historic public space! taken in Gracie Mansion by @voteshekar

"Bangladesh Street" is more than a name. It’s the recognition of a community whose power is growing stronger each day.

Today, on Bangladesh’s 52nd Independence Day, a street in #JacksonHeights is forever changed. 73rd St will celebrate Bangladesh tomorrow & every day after 🇧🇩

With today’s street naming, we honor and thank our Bangladeshi community. We remember all those who sacrificed for Bangladeshi independence. A very special thank you to my elected colleagues who joined us and to @shamina__ from my team who made today a huge success.

From our taxi workers to small businesses, to media and politics, our Bangladeshi community is a force. I stand on the shoulders of many uncles, aunties, siblings without whom I wouldn’t be here. With this street naming, the voices of our Bangladeshi community echo across NYC. taken in Jackson Heights by @voteshekar

Today, at our @nyccouncil Committee of the Whole, I asked AI companies a simple question: how are you protecting New Yorkers’ money?

Their responses didn’t answer the question. Our retirements and 401K’s are tied to the success of these companies— which are increasingly focused on hoarding wealth for their CEO’s. by @voteshekar

Out now: I had a great conversation with Ben Max about our @nyccouncil oversight hearing on screens in schools. These big corporations want us to feel like the problem is too big to solve — conversations like this one expose that it’s not. by @voteshekar

The original results of this case were a failure of our justice system,@cornelluniversity, & 57 fraternity brothers who were complicit.

We now have an opportunity to hold the institutions & individuals accountable & change the culture that allows this injustice. by @voteshekar

Thank you to the over 30 constituents who came to our office today for Mobile Office Hours with Congresswoman @aoc team. We have heard from many of you regarding stolen mail at the Jackson Heights Post Office, and today, constituents were assisted with mail theft reports and inquiries.

If you weren’t able to join us, we encourage those of you who have experienced mail theft to report the incident to the US Postal Inspection Service (USPIS). You can do so by calling 877-876-2455. by @voteshekar
