Four days are riding around the Sella Grupo, the Sellaronda cycling route with infinite variations. We previously been here in spring with fields of wildflowers. September was different. Mainly in the wildflowers had just changed. The vistas were slightly different, Marmolada had less snow. The food was delicious as ever and the hospitality, warm and inviting. It was hard to put the camera away. We mostly rode trails and gravel, but did take advantage of the lifts a few times. taken in Santuario di Santa Croce by @voxdoc

It was a week of sharing accumulated thoughts and understanding about vocal cord motion. @ifosistanbul2026 was a successful event for physicians from around the world. 🌍 Of course, it was delightful in the hallways, sharing thoughts, smiles, new introductions, and laughter. The many moods of our campsite this weekend. We had mountain goat visitors, a baby bear, fog, two drops of rain, a half moon, the Milky Way, a blazing sunset, all up on the side of Loowit (Mt. St. Helens). Since I had a chance to backpack this summer, I can say bike packing really is icing on the cake. Even going uphill, pushing the bike, fully loaded, is much more comfortable than a full pack on the back. The icing comes when you get to descend back down while everyone else is still walking. If you’ve never been up Ape Canyon to the Plains of Abraham, this is spectacular old growth forest. I’m sure many of the trees are over 500 years old. by @voxdoc

Final photos of our diving adventure. We saw so much sea life: three types of sea tortoise, nurse sharks (my first shark sighting), moray eel, barracuda, sea anemone, and so many varieties of tropical fish in vibrant colors. The coral reef was healthy and the water clarity was excellent. James got to test some new technology: a flashlight and an iPhone case for underwater photography, both specifically designed for scuba. Nearly every dive we had the opportunity to swim through the numerous tunnels and arches in the coral reef. It felt like a dream. taken in Cozumel, Mexico by @voxdoc

One of the main reasons I took up scuba diving in recent years is my fear that the coral reefs of the world are bleaching and dying. I wanted to share with Amy the beauty of the underwater world and it seems difficult to wait for a better time. Of course, my preference is to reelect humans who understand science and appreciate humanity, to jobs of political responsibility and start concentrating on renewable energy, and reversing climate change. While I work on that process, here are some views from and not just beautiful, but incredibly important undersea world.
