NATIONAL CHAMPIONS 3-PEAT! 🏆🏆🏆

The Virginia Tech Drone Racing Team pulled off a well earned team victory this past weekend down in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the Collegiate Drone Racing Championship!!

This year was one of the most competitive groups yet, with 13 universities and almost 70 pilots total. The VTDRT was able to bring 8 pilots this year, with all competing and contributing to the teams success.

This wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of our community, Virginia Tech, and, most importantly, every single pilot and team member who has showed up to make this club special.

We’re already looking forward to next year, and can’t wait to continue growing and competing in the world of drone racing.

BACK-TO-BACK NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! 🏆🏆

The Virginia Tech Drone Racing Team has done it AGAIN! We are proud to announce that we are the 2025 Collegiate Drone Racing Association REPEAT NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! 🚀

After an intense two-day showdown in North Carolina, we emerged victorious against 11 of the best collegiate drone racing teams in the nation.

This wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support from our incredible sponsors, the Virginia Tech community, and, most importantly, every single pilot and team member who has showed up to make this club special.

Don’t worry, we’re not done either, and there is plenty more drone racing ahead of us as we look forward to next year. Looking forward to bringing home the CDRC cup to Blacksburg!

THE VIRGINIA TECH DRONE RACING TEAM IS THE NATIONAL CHAMPION!!! 🔥 🏆 🔥

This weekend, the VTDRT participated in the 2024 Collegiate Drone Racing Championship hosted at Purdue University. It was a tough race between us and a few of the other top schools, but we are proud to announce that for the first time in team history, the team has come out victorious

We had great individual performances by:

As a team, we have come a long way this year, and I have seen all of us get so much faster. It has been a blast practicing and racing throughout the year, and I am very proud of all of our pilots. Special shoutout to our graduating members Louis Tucker and Alex Riensche.

This past Saturday VTDRT competed in the @multigp CDRC Simulator series! We took second place behind the talented @sandt_multirotor team in a hard fought 42 lap battle. Next up we are going straight to real life competition in Tusla, OK April 11-12 for the collegiate championship! by @vtdrt

The VT Drone Racing Team hosted the annual Flying into Fall Race this past weekend, and we saw 12 pilots battle it out to the end!

We host this race every year as a way to allow pilots, no matter the skill level, to compete in a high intensity race environment and learn what real drone racing is!

This year we had a host of pilots take home a $250 prize pool presented by our great friends at @immerse_con !!

This year we split the field into 3 tiers:

Get ready to fly because this Sunday, October 26th is officially our annual Flying into Fall race!! This year is going to be insane, with a $250 prize pool, in addition to prizes such as free batteries, props, and more.

The Drone Racing Team at VT had an amazing time at @immerse_con this past weekend! We are so thankful for being able to partner with ImmerseCon to bring First Person View (FPV) drone racing into the local community! Attendees got to talk directly with our leadership team, learn about our drones, and of course fly a FPV simulator with a real drone racing remote and goggle setup.
