Yo! I’m Excited to present what I’ve been working on over the past 3 months during my residency with the TXRX labs here in Houston.

Using the screenprint technique to manually produce each print from photographs I created, I got to experiment and develop new works that envisions the concept of Play and its double-consciousness as a Black person within the American society from youth to adulthood. These works is an interplay of the music America celebrates, the act of youthfulness, and thirst for expression.

The exhibition opens on April 11th and will be on view through June 28th at the Techne Gallery in TXRX labs, in the East End. Houston

Big thanks to @maxtwitty_ for making this dope video and @charlesholt for capturing these images that gives a little insight into the process of bringing these prints to life. @txrxlabs for giving me the residency opportunity, space, and resources to work in a new medium. by @vtine.ike
