🎉 Congratulations to undergraduate Neuroscience major Charlotte Monck of the Ni Lab! 🧠
Charlotte took first prize in the 2026 Undergraduate Nutshell Games! Her research explores how fruit flies sense temperature - fundamental science that could help us better understand how insects locate and spread disease by targeting warm‑blooded prey.

A busy week in NEUR 3044 Cellular & Molecular Neuroscience Lab! 🧠🔬
Students practiced fruit fly phenotyping and examined sections under the microscope. We enjoy seeing their curiosity, focus, and lab skills grow with every experiment.

Another Preview Day in the books for VT Neuro! 🧠🧡💜
We were thrilled to welcome future Hokies and their families to campus today for an inside look at what makes the School of Neuroscience such an incredible place to learn and grow.
Students explored our majors, experienced an engaging teaching demo by Dr. Cline (see anything familiar, current Neuro majors?), and got to hear firsthand from our amazing ambassadors and advisors about academics, research, and life as a Hokie neuroscientist.

🎉 Congratulations to Chin‑Hui Chen and the Vijayan Lab! 🎉
We’re thrilled to announce that Chin‑Hui received the IEEE TryEngineering STEM Grant, awarded by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, for his project: "Brain-Computer Interface for Kids: Hands-On Exploration of Brain Signals and Neural Engineering".
With this grant, Chin‑Hui is launching an outreach initiative that gives young students the chance to explore their own brain signals, learn how neural engineering works, and imagine themselves as the next generation of technology innovators.
