AAPS 2026 🌺 I’m so honored and grateful to have received the Cannon Scholarship from @aaps1921 and attend the 104th Annual Meeting on the beautiful island of Kauai. This was such an unforgettable experience — from connecting with mentors, meeting the generous donors who made this opportunity possible, and learning from some of the giants in plastic surgery! I’m also so thankful to have made amazing new friends and future colleagues along the way 🤍 Special shoutout to my roommate (and UCI’s newest research fellow!) Sara for making this trip extra fun and memorable 🌴☀️ Couldn’t imagine a better way to wrap up my research year! ✈️ by @vu.cindy

Happy Earth Day! 🌎💚 Thought this would be the perfect time share a little bit of background on my research in sustainability. It started in high school, when 16 year old Cindy spent a month at UCSD at summer camp learning about marine biology and global climate change. Fast forward, who knew I’d be continuing environmental work in medical school, collaborating with my PI to research ways to reduce surgical waste, publishing a first-author SRMA, and even contributing to a PRS keynotes podcast. The year after, I became UCI’s Bonnie Reiss Climate Action Fellow, focusing on initiatives to reduce waste at the medical center and hosting workshops on climate resilience. Years later, I’m still snorkeling in La Jolla and exploring places that inspire conservation (featured: Birch Aquarium, Aquarium of the Pacific, and Santa Monica Museum of Natural History). I’m excited to present my prospective study on reducing OR waste in June at PSRC @psrc_1955 ♻️🌱 by @vu.cindy

Fun (and sunny ☀️) past weekend at CSPS in Huntington Beach! Got to present my work on sustainability, see some incredible best case/best save presentations, watch a microsurgery competition, and catch up with my peers and mentors. Next stop: AAPS in Kauai 🌺✈️ by @vu.cindy

Congratulations Ashley on matching med peds at UCLA! I am so incredibly proud of you and grateful for the life-long friendship we built here at UCI. Whether it be practicing for our ultrasound OSCEs, encouraging each other through licensing exams, or planning our girls nights outside of school, thank you for being my rock and best friend in medical school. You will be an amazing physician and continue to do incredible things in your career! 💛💙 by @vu.cindy

Closing out my Asia conference journey at the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery (ISCFS) 2025 in Shanghai, China 🇨🇳✨

It’s been such a joy traveling with my fellow research team and friends, Christina and Arya, and I’m so grateful to Dr. Vyas for supporting all of our talks and inspiring us with his own presentation.

Special thanks to the brilliant people behind the projects I presented — this experience truly reflects your hard work and mentorship. Feeling so thankful and proud for this opportunity, an unforgettable highlight of medical school. 💙 by @vu.cindy

First conference of my research year at Plastic Surgery The Meeting in New Orleans! I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share a project I’ve been a part of since my first year (many hours of chart review later). Thank you to the UCI Plastic Surgery department for their constant support and for providing students with such incredible opportunities to learn and grow — so proud to represent our team! 💙 by @vu.cindy

Nearly 300 med students came out for our 3rd annual ZotUnity Day! ✨
From a relay race to dodgeball tournament, bingo, a DJ, and a photobooth — it was an action packed and fun filled day 💙

Planning such a big event was daunting, but with Dr. Stoke’s guidance and my co-director Jeffrey’s support, we pulled it off! I’m beyond excited to step into my role as Director of Operations this year and can’t wait for all the events ahead 🎉. by @vu.cindy

House Cup 2025 Champions! 🏆
It’s been an honor serving as House Director for Sekhmet alongside Konnor. Crazy to think it all started with me as Social Media Director for ZotUnity—and now I’m excited to step into the role of ZotUnity Director next year!

Successful WOC PRS Meet and Greet 💐 Great job to Ama for leading this event! I had a great time being part of the planning committee, even if it meant blowing up 40 balloons with Christina 🤣 by @vu.cindy
