🌊 Opening for @faetooth and @coltaine in Brighton last Sunday was an absolute pleasure. It was lovely meeting them and seeing friends old and new. The crowd was so welcoming. Thank you to everyone who came and talked to us at the merch stand, and who came back to see us after being introduced to us at the @messa_band gig last year 🖤
(Edit: I just realised all three of these amazing bands 👆 are playing together tonight in Italy with @karitimusic! What an amazing show that will be!)

Best of luck to Faetooth and Coltaine on the rest of the tour… you’re all absolutely smashing what’s a very intense run of shows ✨

It was an honour opening for @messa_band with @seabastarddoom a couple weeks ago. Messa are an incredible band and some of the loveliest people I’ve met in a green room. One of my favourite things is watching good people who make good music come up over time- so I’m happy to see Messa rising in popularity and more people having the chance to hear the beautiful music they are making.

Today I feel an overwhelming warmth of camaraderie running through me. Shared spirit was strong in the @cowleyclub last night. Thank you to all the volunteers and to @ahrtemisia for organising the night. We are always grateful for an opportunity to present our music to a room full of invested souls like those present last night, so thank you to everyone who came, donated, and shared a moment chatting with us as well. Change happens from the ground up, linked arm in arm, and we raised a good chunk of change for a great cause.

Artemisia Nathair is becoming ever stronger in her ability to conjure an atmosphere and I am here for that intention ✨ Finally seeing @agwainfolk for the first time exceeded my expectations and is one of my favourite folk acts I’ve seen. I can’t wait to experience more from both and the fairies whisper that this is just the beginning of a beautiful relationship between us all… 🧚🪾

Massive thanks to Andy from @lovethyneighbr for putting this one on. VVAIF & GHEDI felt like sonic siblings, rooted in a love for heavy music but speaking in tongues of their own. It was amazing to see @jimghedimusic live with the full band (Dave, Neil, Joe- you’re all sick as!!) & I hope our paths cross again someday soon. Thank you for the music, chat, shared table and crisps, and human connection 🫶🍂

Also a big shoutout to the lovely Liv from @onebeatpr for getting the band down to Brighton!

Thank you to everyone who came out to see us with @ahrtemisia & @darkhermusic last weekend. It meant a great deal to me to play with Darkher, as her music strikes a particular chord in me, the influence of which can definitely be heard in VVAIF. It will be a great honour to play together again later this year in Leeds, along with our close friend Artemisia Nathair and a band we’ll be crossing paths with for the first time, @thebandhelga. Follow @hollowsunpresents who are putting that show on. Our appreciation for the way Kristian is curating shows to focus on performances aligning with the seasons is what brought us together.

Coming up next, we are playing an autumn equinox show with @jimghedimusic at Green Door Store on September 21st- next Monday. From his album ‘Wasteland’ that came out last year, to the more recent ‘The Hungry Child’ single and soundtrack to the new film ‘The Death of Robin Hood’, Ghedi’s music has been carving a significant shape into what doom folk is and can be. Ghedi’s voice also feels like an important one, that speaks with the land of England and echoes its woe with a powerful and forlorn reflection on the brutal realities of austerity. @lovethyneighbr have kindly created a discount code for us, so if you haven’t gotten your ticket yet, visit the link in our bio to attend for under £8. NEWS! We’re really pleased to announce the first of two atmospheric, experimental electronic shows that we are bringing to Hastings in October. First up on Wed 21/10/26 is US based artist, Ye Gods, with support from Eastbourne based duo, VVAIF. @maiovvi_yegods @vvai.f

Ye Gods is the post-industrial musical project of prolific British artist Antoni Maiovvi, film composer, producer and co-founder of the influential Giallo Disco label. Blending dark ambient, electroacoustic texture, playful sound design with quasi-folk song structure, Ye Gods evokes a place both wonderful and strange.

Antoni’s career began in Bristol, UK when in 2008, after spending over half a decade involved in free noise and alternative music. His work spans everything from noise rock to scores to films both real and imaginary, and his unique blend of styles has earned him a dedicated cult following for those adventurous to dive in.

Beyond Ye Gods, he has released critically acclaimed albums on labels such as LA’s Not Not Fun, NYC’s New Retro Wave, and legendary Dutch techno label Bunker.

His new album Los on celebrated label Rocket Recordings, is a continuation on the trilogy of albums released in 2025 (coinciding with tours opening for Xeno & Oaklander and Mogwai) combining deliberately strange longform structure and features collaborations from Jarboe (ex-Swans) and members of acoustic drone group Tongue Depressor. @rocket_recordings

Support comes from Eastbourne based duo, VVAIF. VVAIF crafts stripped back yet deeply evocative doom folk. Their haunting vocals and raw, hypnotic guitar unravels subconscious emotions and explores their relationships with others and with nature. Each song feels like an unearthed ancient tale, whispered and wailed in the dark, where the lines between myth, memory, and reality blur.

For this show we’re descending once again into @brewingbrotherscourtyard and tickets will be on sale via @wegottickets from midday Fri 14/08. taken in The Source Park by @vvai.f

Ash & Snow: Chapter I
The Still

Winter has its own rhythm.

The nights grow longer. The pace slows. We spend a little more time listening.

This December, Hollow Sun Presents introduces the first chapter of Ash & Snow—an evening dedicated to music that embraces atmosphere, emotion and immersion.

We’re incredibly proud to welcome Darkher to headline this intimate show, in her home county of West Yorkshire.
With a sound that sits somewhere between doom, folk and ethereal ambience, Darkher has carved out a truly unique place within the UK’s live music scene, and this promises to be an incredibly special show.

Joining her are HELGA (UK/Sweden), whose soaring blend of folk inspired post-rock, blackgaze and cinematic intensity makes them one of the most compelling emerging bands in the genre.

VVAIF craft evocative doom folk with haunting vocals and raw, hypnotic guitar. Each song feels like an unearthed tale whispered and wailed in the dark- blurring the lines between myth, memory, and reality and creating an immersive and hypnotic performance.

Completing the evening is Artemisia Nathair, an acclaimed harpist and composer whose spellbinding performances blend traditional folk influences with contemporary, blackgaze and doom composition. Rich in atmosphere and emotion, her music offers a moment of stillness before the evening gradually unfolds into darker, heavier and more expansive soundscapes.

Four artists, each approaching darkness from a different direction, brought together for one carefully curated evening.

The air cools. The land sleeps. We remain.
