Buying a Birkin in-store can cost you MORE than resale. Let me explain →

everyone assumes the boutique is the “cheaper” way in. For a new Hermès client in the US, it’s usually the opposite.

The retail price of a Birkin 25 is around $13,500 but you rarely just walk in and buy one. Most new clients are expected to build “pre-spend” first: shoes, jewelry, homeware, ready-to-wear, accessories. Things you never planned on buying, often 2:1 to 3:1 before you’re ever offered the bag.
