YOUR NATURAL LASHES MATTER JUST AS MUCH AS YOUR SET!!!!

If you’ve ever come to me with sparse lashes, you’ve probably heard me ask, “Do you wear clusters?” or “Do you pick at your lashes?” I’m not asking to be rude…about 6 out of 10 clients come in with sparse lashes, you are supposed to have MULTIPLE layers of lashes , and I’m trying to understand your lash history.

This isn’t to bash any client or lash artist. I’ve experienced bad lash work myself, which is why I started doing my own lashes. The first picture is me😤🙃

Your natural lashes are the foundation of your set. With wet sets, each spike is attached to one isolated natural lash, so gaps can be more noticeable. The fullness we can safely achieve depends on how many healthy lashes you have to work with. I can enhance what’s there, but I can’t attach an extension where there’s no lash.

Poor isolation, picking, and improper removal can cause damage and affect regrowth over time. Please pay attention to your natural lashes, not just the finished set. A cute set should never cost you your lash health 🤍 by @vvsdollies

🚨 LASH CLIENTS: If your natural lashes are getting thinner and more sparse between sets, let’s talk about ISOLATION. 👀

This video isn’t to bash anyone—it’s to educate. I’ve seen too many clients come in with gaps and damaged natural lashes, and I want y’all to understand how that can happen.

Proper isolation means attaching each extension or fan to ONE natural lash, without sticking neighboring lashes together. Your lashes grow and shed at different times. When they’re glued together, they can pull on each other and cause damage.

Poor isolation, picking your extensions, and clusters applied across multiple natural lashes can all contribute to thinning. Sparse lashes can have other causes too, but application matters—and damage from poor isolation is NOT the client’s fault. Safe application is our responsibility as lash techs.

When y’all ask why my full sets take so long, THIS is why. I’m separating natural lashes, placing each extension carefully, and checking for lashes stuck together. For the full, detailed sets I create, an hour isn’t enough time to give every lash that attention.

Appointment time alone doesn’t tell you whether a set is applied correctly, but proper isolation should NEVER be sacrificed for speed.
