Switch double kick flip. Lead clip. Selection of faves. 14 from the last six months-ish, skate diary. Watched with audio ON during the rainy weekend and wow some have thunderous lands. Spotted that beast kick again (both clips from Lord Stanley’s Gift). Wild animal confirmed there. Noted super slippery flooring inside Parliament O Train Station (switch tre double and nollie tre double). Ideal for scoop trix. Pure sk8te gold, those surfaces. Technical flip at 160 Elgin my best switch nightmare sex change to date. First place land again on V flip (beside elephant). P3 helped me secure many NBDs and makes. Too numerous to mention. Luckily I saved this fakie V flip — Only one filmed, so far. Not textbook finishing move material, but pretty okay for this kind of maneuver. The P3 nollie double flip’s perf though. Certified stomp landing. Happy switch doubles are back of course. Didn’t realize how lightning fast my kicking is with them. Just thinking of this now: Can’t believe number of O Train Stations I skated and the biggg techie stuffs that went down in these unsheltered, open, indoor public places. To be fair, I had over twenty Skate Heists under my skatebelt at that time, which gave me a skateedge. Have, have, have to include nightmare flip and switch nightmare flip from Ottawa U plus my bail on the switch tre double flip try there. All firsts. Double XL double variations at Skate Beach - Fakie nightmare sex change and nollie tre double flip sex change. Last the monster kick on that monster BS big double flip at Archives. When you’re skating six days a week all year long, every year, and filming each session, skatevault’s are going to have rows of videos and countless faves. I very much enjoyed walking down skatememory lane this weekend, as it rained outside. I got a lot skatedone. Huge doubles and heavy single flips. Several pretty roll aways. Some even flawless. More than I expected. Grip tape time, improving, and having fun what’s key. Fave’s, a bonus. Nice to have extras for sure. Nice break skatereminising too. Nice that I filmed so often. Won’t forget those sessions and tricks. Those good skatetimes. Can watch what was over and over and over again. by @vvvirtuous

Go To’s, skate diary. We each have ours. In pockets. Inside backpacks. Ready and waiting. Moves that we’ve done so many times that they drop first try. Tricks we rely on. Accountable and countable - There when we need them and I have a list of mine. There for warm up. There to build confidence. There when you need a guaranteed clip at a certain hit. There during games of skates. There jusss for funnn. There. Up or down they’re our faves and one of mine is this unconventionally done inward heel flip. Some trick wizards have asked if it’s a backwards hard flip, and it kind of is. But being honest I answer no and explain how I class them, how it’s a hybrid of two different tricks, how the board rotates, and how in the 90s when I learned to skate that I didn’t learn some things properly, like skating bolts, etc. Alongside shuvs, double flip variations, nightmares in all stances, and v flips, this move’s a Go To, and just like these other tricks, on my all time favourite maneuvers list. A single flip. Simply looking. Yet actually quite complex and technical. Years back I almost landed a double one. That would have been a trick-of-a-lifetime. Still it’s a not yet. This flip’s not for everyone, however it’s one that I never tire of and very much enjoy. After doing one I even get that indescribable feeling while rolling away. It makes a monstrous sound on select types of flooring too. I could go on and on about them, but what’s your Go To list? As a sk8te adventurer, sk8 tourist, of no fixed address, anchor-less, I hit many hits. I film at each hit. Go To’s happen per sesh. So I have a huge collection of skatematerial. Skatevault. I usually have about two weeks worth of stuff and then skateleftovers. During the week I reload and the cycle repeats. Figured these would come in skatehandy some day. A rainy day perhaps and now they have. Here are over twenty at varied local places I love and ones I roll into regularly. One slow motion at the end. Clip locations (Not in order) - Big Two, OAG, City Hall, NAC, skate tunnel, The Senate, Lebreton Flats, TD Place, P3, Indigo on George, Riverain, Ottawa U, Daly Street, and 55 Metcalfe. Think I got them all. by @vvvirtuous

At times, skate diary, I have luck. Arrive at a hit. Only to be taken aback, taken away, taken, by the sky. Zibi. August 8th. Sun had me. Showstopper. Showcase. Stealing the show. Editing tricks later I was fixated on the above. Missed landings. Other sk8 activities below. Most times I jusss pass over the main footbridge. Like it’s falling apart behind me. Right to the banks. My visit here, however, only this rectangle plus right in front the focus. As water moves, as flowers watch, I remembered just how much funnn this bridge dance floor is. Perimeter three sides of water and one sun transpirational ingredients for sure. Chose to add other adventures, adventuring that moved me to this post. Exhibit B an August 11th 55 Metcalfe session. Flat and glass. Sidewalk, windows, but so much more. Magic. Magical. Place always looks different. Weather. Time of day. Angle you point your iPhone into the black you can’t see through, but reflects out. Perhaps it’s the mystery these squares create? I only appear inside a windowpane. I’m nowhere. Visible. Gone. I filmed a nollie tre double normal film way to illustrate difference. Even though surface isn’t right for this trick. Always enchanted here. Words can’t explain. Maybe it’s the skatekid appearing within its reflections? 700 Sussex. Incline’s planetary. Gentle slope. Smooth. A dance floor that’s treated me so well. Landed all my biggest technical moves on this jewel plus countless NBDs. Another hit that must hold magic within. Mayhem surrounds, however you can still get messy and create unperturbed by the commotion. Zone out and zero in on your deck and foot positioning. That’s my trick. August 4th. I decided to split view. Steel from glass wall to divide courtyard and bank. I’m blurry because of this, but I think the not clear, unclear looks cool. Three slow motion vids are from July. Love them. Locations like these three here are bridges to new miniature worlds. A break with the power to break up things. So that the water flows again. A gain of immense value. With grip tape below everything’s above. by @vvvirtuous

Old power station backdrop. Ground too barf for moving tricks. Tried many a time. Plane crashed. Flames. Fire trucks. Wanted one session of sk8 trix here, atop this rugged concrete terrain bad because I liked the setting. Instead of trying once more, risking losing altitude, I picked safe and did this standing switch kick flip. Funny how it looks so very pretty. Clean. Washed. Pressed. Presentable. At times I wonder why some of my switch is so pristine. Other times I don’t ponder. What’s most important: Those seconds, minutes, hours on that black grip. Jessup. Mob. Paradox. New or used. It doesn’t matter the make or condition. Paradox is my favourite, however. Having your deck nearby’s what’s paramount. This flip is the last trick I did on July 19th. You set up your sk8te set. Get messy. But that moment comes when you have to end your session. Curtains close. Credits roll. Lights come on. Theatre slowly empties. That space that you transformed returns to what it was before you arrived. While editing later I noticed a bird’s shadow that followed me as I walked off stage. I didn’t notice it at the time. Rushing water. Fixated on my switch flip. I always have to tell myself to pop. Don’t forget to pop. Didn’t hear it pass over, like if it called out. Glad I caught it while looking through footage. One winged pal heading my direction. I like to think that it was a black bird. Like my three black bird deck pals. And skate diary, that it was nice. Said hi. Wished me well. Will miss me. As I pedalled away, bike wheels on pavement. I went over different roads. Different tricks I did. Different things. I passed by Skate Beach and Archives. So I’m adding clips from sessions from there. Me getting messy on the path leading to the water. BS heel on this hill. Some nightmare sex changes and switch flip and switch pop shuv at the top. And me in the middle of the hillside. Behind Archives. Pushing around. Flipping. Being a skatekid again on its dance floor. Always love these breaks. Wish they never ended. Post sesh though you have to board that flight. Skate part. Then depart. You take off. A farewell. Like a bird takes off. That said, I’ll say farewell. To the next hit… by @vvvirtuous

As some were switching the lights off, goodnight, sweet dreams, etc., I was once again turning skateboarding on, skate diary. My original nighttime part of sk8 destruction had to be amended though. Constantly. To be sure, certain hits had evil sprinklers. Others enemy buses using designated lay up areas defacto blocking dance floors. Still others ruined because cabs parked beside giant cooper plates that I was pining over. General publics sleeping or occupying additional hits led to several more calls of next. Hit after hit, pass, pass, pass, a full hour of biking and no sk8te minutes. Regrouped. Recalled Via walkway and trashed it. Discovered entire corridor’s like 55 Metcalfe mirrors. Indeed, you can see yourself, Queensway traffic, flooring, all at once. Being an expert now at aiming my iPhone into windows I believe that I found numerous sick views, but here you’ll have to look very carefully to see me and my trick. Reviewing footage I was thrilled with results and how I tricked over and through vehicles, as well as with the speeding bus after one specific make. Included many normal shots of the space. So that you can see the real passageway alongside the reflected scenes. Pretty neat place after sunset for sure. Made me look transparent. Ghost like. Ghostly as I also appear and disappear. Am see through at times. Detailed and then so not. Barely visible. Almost gone. NAC lights next. Four tre shuvs. Security has been alert here. I was quick like a skatebunny. Block of Kent Street in front of Place De Ville. Attempted to have lights change during trick and once landed. Didn’t work, but funnn playing the game. Let these clips go a bit as there are serious cool images, especially with reflections on steel and marble and the backdrop. Big BS heel in Rideau tunnel connecting Daly and Sussex. Sometimes it’s totally jammed and sometimes vacant. Even though the clips that I really wanted didn’t happen I got that sweet deck time, break from things - Breaks, passages to much needed adventures. by @vvvirtuous
