One of our most exciting and unique projects to date, this cottage and stables form a part of the oldest homestead on the Bellarine Peninsula.

It’s rare that we stop and take the time to celebrate the wins in this industry but bringing you all along for the reveal of this project is definitely a proud moment for us all and one we wanted to celebrate.

Without doubt one of the most intricate projects we have produced to date. Our amazing clients came to us with the most exciting ideas for their beautiful Victorian home and gave us the opportunity to bring both the planning and execution together. Working alongside an incredible designer in @matthewjames.studio along with our phenomenal team, we couldn’t be more proud of what this property has become.

Tuckpointing

With our Ramsden St restoration nearing completion we have just completed the tuck pointing of the brick facade.
A task that can only be undertaken by a true craftsman and one of the most satisfying elements you’re likely to find in a heritage project.

Winter updates 🌧️🛠️

From site framing to precision joinery and final handover details, here is a look at what the team’s been up to across just a few of our current projects:

Ramsden: Mid-construction progress— Lockup adjustments, joinery and tiling.

Barkly: Mid-construction stage—internal wall framing and electrical rough-ins taking shape under the winter sun.

Enfield: Reached completion—seamless black steel frame doors opening out to lush greenery, bold custom cabinetry, and rich natural stone finishes.

Coriyule: Final stages—crafting custom timber joinery and detailing restored stonework alongside historic window installations.

Every site brings its own unique set of challenges and craftsmanship, but seeing these heritage and architectural builds come together makes all the detailed work worthwhile.

From near ruin to a heritage landmark restored. 🏛️✨

We’re getting close to the finish line on one of our most exciting and involved restoration projects to date: Coriyule Cottage.

When we first took this build over, the structure was essentially a ruin. Restoring it back to its original glory—while seamlessly integrating a modern, thoughtful addition—has required an unbelievable amount of time, precision, and detail.

From painstakingly rebuilding the stonework and recreating intricate fretwork to crafting the timber pergola addition, this project has been a true labor of love for our team.

A 15mm encroachment onto council land. A 12-month project delay.

Brett Way from @vwbuildingprojects shared why the biggest project pitfalls aren’t on site, they’re hiding in the paperwork.

That’s exactly why their team is so big on the ECI process (Early Contractor Involvement). Nine times out of ten, they’re working with clients from concept stage or even earlier.

What that gets you:
✅ Clients who actually understand the build they’re walking into
✅ Pitfalls flagged before they cost time and money
✅ Permit and council issues caught early, not mid-build

Because by the time you’re breaking ground, it’s already too late to find out a boundary line is off.

Not only did everyone cross the finish line, but we also went beyond our goal and raised over $5000 in donations to support @blackdoginst
