From Sherrie’s RNLI Fundraiser page: THE TIME IS NOW!

Dad was the person I rang first thing every morning, the steady voice that started my day. Running this race feels emotional, scary, and huge… but it also feels like the right way to honour him. I started with Jo Whiley’s Couch to 5K, barely able to imagine getting through those early intervals. But I kept going. I ran on holiday, I ran in London while the kids explored, I ran at Kendal Calling. I have had to build running into my routines. Every run felt like a small victory even the ones where I wanted to stop.

We spent our lives by the sea, and the RNLI has always been close to our family’s heart. Supporting them feels like supporting home — the coastline, the community, and the people who keep others safe. Running for the RNLI feels like carrying a piece of Dad with me. Now it’s the night before the run. My kit’s packed. My number’s pinned. My nerves are doing somersaults. I feel emotional, proud, scared, excited — all at once.

Running hasn’t come naturally, but the determination did. And that came from Dad.

Tomorrow, I’ll run with everything I’ve got. For the RNLI. For everyone who’s supported me. And most of all — for Dad x

Happy 60th Birthday Brian, hope you and Jill are having an ace time in Rome 🇮🇹

You and I met all them years ago in Wigan and have had some great memories and adventures since, from Tim Peaks at Kendal Calling, to BBC at Cardiff, adidas in Carnaby Street and everything in between.

Sherrie, the girls and I are all super proud of you and how well things are going for you and the team at @microdotcreative

You’re a good friend, we’ll see you when you’re back in Cumbria, like eh!
